FC Barcelona announce that German club Borussia Dortmund have informed them of their desire to activate the buy out clause for the player Marc Bartra, according to which the Club is obliged to facilitate the transfer of the player for the price of 8 million euros.

Marc Bartra arrived at the Club at the age of 12 and is a fine representative of the values embodied by la Masia, both as a player and as a person. The defender has spent more than half his life at FC Barcelona and with the first team he won five league titles, two Champions Leagues, two Copa del Rey, two European Super Cups, two Spanish Super Cups and one Club World Cup.

Wir haben vorab gesprochen. Ich habe ihn gefragt, ob er kommt oder nicht. Er sagte mir, dass er eigentlich nächste Woche unterschreiben werde. So ist es auch passiert. Wir haben Nummern getauscht, da wir uns nicht wirklich kannten. Aber er ist ein cooler Typ, der ähnlich drauf ist wie ich. Er hat sein Talent über die gesamte Saison gezeigt. Er hat sich mit dem BVB richtig entschieden.Nun ist es an ihm, gut zu arbeiten und auch an mir, ihn zu überwachen.(lacht)

Any comment on Mats Hummels?

One part of me understands completely that he wants to be close to his family and stay at the place that must feel like home to him. More money and more success won’t hurt either even though I’m sure those two on their own wouldn’t have been enough for him to leave for munich.

The other part is just disappointed that he isn’t the loyal, humble, down-to-earth player that he himself always declared to be. Not us, not the club..it was him who said all the reassuring things to the fans.

All in all I can say that I’m not as upset as I though I would be. The club has priority over individuals. Something a lot of us say. I’ve managed to internalize that completely.
