The Death of Marcus Hills || TSI
Night fell upon the island, bringing cold air and flickering stars. Marcus' hands were tied behind his back and his eyes were red, surrounded by heavy, dark bags. Two vertical scars were visible, one just below his eye and one above, whenever he blinked, the two were joined. His whole attire was dirty and torn. The man's head weakly turned to his right, across the room he could see a window, just too small to fit through realistically, but in his position, any chance of escape was just that... A chance.
Although in most circumstances Marcus' night vision ability was useless, right now, he really valued it. Breathing heavily, yet silently, he leant over to his left, peaking out the window to make sure that his captor was busy with other things. After seeing the approval he needed, Marcus slowly and quietly began to push himself up the wall, holding the metal chain that attached him to the concrete tighter to prevent any unnecessary noise escaping.Â
He knew that as soon as he tried to pull the chains off the wall, the loud noise would alert The Joker and the green haired man would appear within seconds. So, he planned each step in his head, pull and then run. Get out. Run fast. Don't look back. He needed to find an Avenger, any of them, he wanted to be safe. It was at this time when he was actually wanting some of Siarc's advice.
The brunette dropped the metal chain and began to run as fast as he could to release the chains from their hold. Cluttering and laughter chilling echoed into the room Marcus was held in, followed by footsteps. Slow, steady steps as The Joker approached the door and rested on the frame, pushing the door open leisurely to see his victim struggling to get free. His laugh grew louder and Marcus dropped to his knees and fell to the ground as the purple jacket grew closer and closer.
"Have you really not learnt that this place... These chains... Oh these chains. THESE! My dear... Are... INDESTRUCTIBLE!" The Joker said as he paraded around the dingy room. Marcus stared up at him, his alias worthy spine-chilling 'glare' shining through. Yet, this did not work to dampen the clown's smile.Â
"Fuck you" Marcus managed through gritted teeth.Â
"What was that I heard you say?! Ah-ha-ha-ha! Listen here boy. I warned you last time you tried this little tricky-wicky that if you triedy-wiedy again.... YOU! ...would join Vali at the bottom of the sea. I have no reason to keep you... INFACT! You're... You certainly are more of a threat to KEEP than to kill......"Â
The boy felt his heart miss a beat. This was genuine fear coursing through Marcus' body. He knew this was the end. He already knew. The Joker was right...
And so, Marcus rose from the ground, each inch his physique grew stronger until he was onto his knees and began to draw back the tears that had fallen from his eyes. Looking up at the white face before him, he took a breath in.Â
"Kill me..." he said, flat and tonelessly, as if he had no cares in the world. As if he wanted it. Under any normal circumstances, he was sure that this would have deterred the potential murder but this was no everyday killer.Â
"With pleasure"Â were the last two words he heard before a sharp knife entered him neck and he dropped to the floor lifelessly.

OOC -- Whoops Inactivity.
Sorry guys, moved to university and then had a week without internet because of studentcom and their sucky dfksdnfjks. Okay, Iâm back now, like this if you want to para.
:D
This sums up my OOC feelings right now. Sorry for my absence guys, but I'm just going through a really rough patch right now. I'd list what was up but, you lot probably don't care and... It'd be a huge waste of time, not to mention the lack of read-more's on photos.
Anyway. I'm fine, just been absent minded slightly, I probably won't do this para I need to do (Sorry Ally and Eli) and I kind of just want to get around to killing Marcus off because I feel bad that the plot is in place and my absence is putting it off...
Yep. I'm going to go to bed now, that is all.
ALSO HAPPY BIRTHDAY PRAXITRON!
OOC Update!
If you guys want to, you can follow my new, Personal Tumblr. (It has super secrets on it... Well, not really... But follow it 8D)
OH! And read this post for info on my next... Project? Should be fun, looking forward to doing it.
Boarding time.
As far as heâd heard, it was almost time to go. He had gotten his pilot all ready (aka JARVIS), and had the plane fuelled up before waiting on the roof of Stark tower with a list of the students attending. Naturally, some students and faculty had not expressed interest in the trip, so they would inevitably be staying behind; either way, it was exciting, being able to get away from that place at least for a little while.
Peering through the list, he mentally checked each kid (and member of personnel) he knew off, pondering over the ones he wasnât so familiar with.Â
Tapping his foot, he waited for everyone to arrive, and the roll call to begin.Â
Marcus pulled the zip steadily around his suitcase. Having gotten rid of most of his youthful attire, he was left with no choice but to put on, and pack, clothing from many centuries ago.Â
He looked like something off of a video game, a Templar from Assassins Creed perhaps, or something out of the stage production of Shakespeare's Midsummer nights dream. All he was missing was heavy armour and a large sword hanging from his side. Although, granted that would have looked damn cool.
He lifted the suitcase from his bed and placed it onto the floor before exiting his room and making his way down the corridors of the institute he was happy to leave behind for a week.
Once on the roof he realised he was slightly late, seeing everyone crowded around Stark answering to their names. He picked up his pace slightly, boots and the wheels of the suitcase informing the others of his presence. He let a small smile come across his lips, ignoring the small stares of the others for he was now white haired and white stubble covered his jaw.Â
Perhaps hiking was not exactly the best holiday choice now, but he'd at least attempt it.Â
"Sorry I'm late, Mr. Stark"
Recycling // TSI \\ Open
Marcus saw little point in keeping any of his trendy, youthful clothing. It was not the normal thing to see a white haired man wander around in brown, tight jeans, band t-shirts and leather jackets. Therefore, he was packing such items into a cardboard box to take to the nearest charity shop before they departed for their holiday.
He had much attire akin to his age for those items that would have been youthful in his day are now outdated and ancient.
Marcus walked through the corridors of the institute, his boots echoing with each step. His mind was far from his path and he soon collided with another individual.
"Oh, my apologies..." he said bending down to pick up the fallen items of clothing.
The Age of Peace || TSI || Mina & Marcus
Mina wandered the halls, not really having a destination in mind, just⊠wandering. Sheâd spent most of the last few weeks split between the lounge, her room, and a few training rooms. Despite her earlier tendency to head to the far reaches of the areas she was allowed to be in, she had stopped, having good reasons to stay where she was. But now she had returned to her wandering, refreshing her mind of the halls she didnât frequent as often. Turning a corner, she paused, then smiled a bit, recognizing the room she was at, the door in front of her. Since theyâd brought a lot of the leisurely books to the lounge for the studentsâ easy perusals (though they were often forgotten when there were things such as television and violence to be had), she hadnât come here anymore.
Reaching a hand out, she opened the door, paying little mind to the noise it made until she realized someone was in the room. Shutting the door as quietly as possible, she couldnât help looking at the figure scratching away with a quill (an actual quill!). He seemed to be wearing strange robes, making her even more curious. Sidestepping, she came around to where she could see his face and recognized Marcus, though there was something different. She could almost pass it off as just the strangeness of his attire and occupation, but something in her mind told her that wasnât it. Trying not to stare, she cleared her throat a little. âSorry about the door,â she said clearly but quietly.
He felt himself jump, slightly startled by the voice that echoed off the surrounding walls. For some reason, noise is always much louder and travels faster in libraries than it does anywhere else. A peculiar observation considering that libraries are a place of silence.
He looked across to see a young girl, Mina, he had not talked to her much during his time at TSI although he had seen her around from time to time.Â
"Not a problem" he said with a smile, his eyes still down on the scroll as he finished  his line of thought. He then proceeded to place the writing quill into a small pot of blank ink.
"You are Mina, correct?" he was sure he was right, but there were so many students in this place one can easily get confused when it comes to who is who.
Head Cannon #6
Marcusâ suspended ageing ability is wearing off. He is beginning to age, but not at a normal rate. He is now ageing 3 years each day.
Note: The ageing will slow as he reaches closer to his actual she and will become normal when he reaches 77.
The Age of Peace || TSI || OPEN
Marcus sat at a desk in the library, he was not dressed as he would usually be found. He was not dressed in the modern days attire. No, he wore robes of many colours and  many patterns, hand woven cotton danced with silk and a large necklace divided the material from his neck. His boots were brown and well made, should he have been around 70 years ago, such clothing would have symbolized great wealth.Â
He occasionally dressed in this attire when he found himself in need of clearance from the modern day, which is what he was getting. He had always been a sucker for knowledge and so sitting in a place where such a thing is most, Marcus felt truly at home. An old quill rested against the gap between his thumb and index finger as he scribbled words onto parchment, getting lost in his own words⊠confused by his new mind.Â
Perhaps⊠The way in which to find peace with oneself is for one to find peace with the world. Everyone, every creature that roams the universe we live in is capable of peace. Should one simply stop, place all devices on hold and walk amongst the nature that surrounds them, one would find themselves observing, a trait that has brought our species through times of trouble and despair. The humanâs ability to step back and analyse a problem before tackling it is quite simply remarkable⊠I took heed of my own thoughts, two days ago when I wandered into the vast city of New York. Many people integrated into one civilisation, headed by the power of technology. As I sat on a wall, watching life pass before my eyes I observed that the people that past me by⊠None were⊠Peaceful. They all walked fast, talked faster and most thoughts were far from beautiful.Â
I am unfortunate enough to know different from his world we live in. Although I was a different man to what I have changed to be now within the last week⊠Back then, everything was much more⊠Simple. I am yet to make a full decision on whether the change in reality is a positive or negative change but so far I am yet to come across an individual who is at peace like those in my real timeâŠ
As he wrote he did not hear the slight creak of the opening of the library door, nor the footsteps that gained their closure on the old man. Glare was beginning to feel his age, but he had no idea he was beginning to look it tooâŠÂ
Why are you being so unactive? you've gone from like one of the most active to hardly ever in the chatzy and hardly posting at all :\ kinda sad, I miss Marcus and James =(
Oh.. Er. Hey... I should probably give a reason.. Right?
I'm not too sure why I've been so dormant the last week or so. I just haven't really had anything to motivate me on these blogs, I mean don't get me wrong I love the people... but, TSI is dead atm and has been for a while. I used to wake up in the morning and be scrolling down the dash for a good ten... twenty minutes before I found my last post and now I hardly scroll at all... Nothing seems to be going on and everyone seems to be leaving/on hiatus/hardly active.
It's sad really and I have thought about leaving a few times because of reasons I don't really want to post about... I'm sorry to hear you miss Marcus and James but... Marcus won't be around much longer and I don't know if I'm going to stick around after he dies (If this plot ever gets off the ground). Â
I'm also going off to University on the 22nd September so, I'm getting ready for that and as before, once I go, I don't know if I'll carry on here. I actually started to run a couple other RP blogs alongside this one because I was just a bit bored sat staring at an empty dash. :\Â
So... Have a hug dear Anon and... Thank you...
September Sun [Vali and Glare] || TSI
Vali would have told him that his actions were still not justified. He broke the rules, knowing the consequences could be more severe than just a suspension. But, he was done arguing. He had promised himself that he would stop acting as a sitter to these kids, butâŠ
He followed Glareâs direction with his gaze, turning around to face what was further inside, and his face softened at his offer. Coffee sounded nice at the moment, and a sensible conversation with the mysterious Glare seemed like a good idea if he wanted to see Narfiâs definition of âbad newsâ, even though he had a good glimpse of it already with that one incident with Vision.
Or maybe, Vali just wanted the company.
âSure,â he said, nodding.
A small smile came across Marcus' face when the other man accepted his offer. They began to walk through the corridors, both of their boots echoing of the floor onto the walls as they strolled towards the cafeteria.Â
A hand slipped inside Glare's pocket before he spoke again.Â
"So, what brings you to TSI?" he asked, more than slightly intrigued as to why the boys were here when they both seemed to have control over their powers. But then, perhaps they didn't. Glare was also trying to just break the somewhat awkward silence as they walked.
September Sun [Vali and Glare] || TSI
âIâve found rulesâtheyâre more likeâŠguidelines, and some are just simply made to be broken,â Vali replied in the exact manner Marcus had told him the same thing, even demonstrating a few dismissive gestures as he continued to mock him. His smirk grew more prominent, and he crossed his arms over his chest. âThat pretty much said everything. Also, your mentor is my father, and Iâm pretty sure that I know him enough to know that after what happened with Lance, he would be a little more strict with letting his students out alone in broad daylight or no.â
What was he doing, he asked himself, wincing slightly at his own words. He sounded like Narfi. But then, they are brothers, right?
But Vali had no intention of making Glare an enemy, or anyone else for that matter. He wasnât one to look for trouble either, even though trouble often found him.
He shook his head. âLook, Iâm not here to antagonize you,â he said, frowning, quickly reverting back to his old self. âIâm just telling you to be careful.â
Glare found his eyes rolling before he could stop them as the other mocked him, he wasn't exactly quick on his feet and so he realised he had really talked himself into such mockery.Â
He nodded as Vali said about Lance and that the mentors would be much more strict on allowing the students out of TSI.Â
"Yes, hence why I did not ask for permission... I knew it would most likely be declined and therefore it would have been harder to get out. I haven't caused any trouble out there... I simply wanted to feel real air surrounding me." he wasn't lying about that, he hadn't even brought anything or gone into the city centre he'd just walked around the block.Â
"And I do not wish to be antagonized, so we have something to go on" he said light heartedly. He walked further and then just past Vali before turning around. Glare had formed too many enemies to keep track of here and no friends, perhaps he could try with the guy. They seemed fairly similar, right? Could Marcus keep a friendship? Well, time would tell but for now he simply asked...
"Do you want to join me in the cafeteria for coffee?"
September Sun [Vali and Glare] || TSI
âAnd yet you choose to break the rules and not ask permission anyway,â Vali countered, quirking a brow. âI mean, itâs not like weâre banned completely, right?â He smirked a little, mocking the boy before him.
And as for Glareâs original question, Vali simply just didnât want to answer. Vali was never a lover of the outdoors. The only time he longed to be outside was when he needed something to do, and at this point, he needed so many thingsâthings that he canât do.
Marcus' eyes narrowed, Vali did indeed have a point but he wasn't going to let that show.
"How do you even know I don't have permission?" he countered, raising his eyebrow and tilting his head. It frustrated Glare, to be around others with the ability to block their mind, thoughts and memories from him. It meant he had to use wit and should he ever fall out with one, physical strength. Neither of which he possessed much of. Like Narfi, Marcus was very much a long distance fighter, a mind fighter if you will.Â
September Sun [Vali and Glare] || TSI
Vali scowled even deeper at the boyâs response. Glare wasnât even trying to hide it. He was breaking the rules so freely, completely underestimated SHIELD security. Surely, there was a reason behind thisâwhy they allowed him outside. All Vali wanted to know was whyâŠ
âŠand who. Because, call him naive, but he was pretty sure none of the Avengers and Loki had nothing to do with this.
Wait a minute, he thought. Since when had he started considering Loki as innocent?
He shook his head and clicked his tongue, and then turned his attention back to the boy. âGlare, is it?â he asked, placing a hand on his hip. âAs easy as it is to go out, I suggest you stay inside.â
He noticed the deepening scowl upon the other man's face. In turn, it made his eyebrows slightly furrow in wonder of what Marcus had done that was so completely wrong. He'd just gone out to feel the fresh wind blow through his hair as oppose to the synthetic air conditioning breeze he was used too.
"I can tell you long to go out, Vali..." he said simply, as if his observation was nothing to be questioned. He also used the sentence as an aversion from him just being caught coming in from the outside without permission.
"...Why have you not asked permission? It isn't like we are banned completely, you can go out without breaking the rules..." he added, taking a step closer to the other mutant.Â
