due to some really neat but unforeseen circumstances, i’m going to be deleting this blog tonight. i wanted to say thanks for everything & thank you for all the experiences i had before i went, so that’s what this post is for.

While we’re still on the topic of Frustrations with People Trying to Get Romance RP in Shitty Ways:

Don’t try to frame all of your RP interactions around the goal of trying to spark romance. Trust me. You are not being a subtle as you think. When RP with you starts to feel like you think you’re the protagonist of an exceedingly shitty dating sim and you are doing everything you can to trigger the sexy-times cutscene with my character - I will realise you are trying to herd and pressure me towards romance without my input.

Don’t lead my character into typical romance novel tropes with the expectation of getting a specifc result and then feel butthurt when that result does not occur. You lead my character into a cookie cutter scenario where your character is vulnerable, exposed, and in a position where - if this were a romance novel - this would be when Fabio gathers you into his arms and realises he’s got feelings for you. Great. The only problem with that my character isn’t Fabio. This is RP. Not a script. Romance novel logic doesn’t always jive with “what would a real, live, normal person do in this same scenario” logic. One of my favorite past-times is watching the reactions of players when they put me in one of those situations expecting a romance novel result, and instead get the a more real world result or …you know Tiergan being the emotional clusterfuck that he is.

Just, idk, have a character where if there were zero chance of sexy times or romance, we would still have compelling reasons to want to RP together. If there is absolutely nothing else driving our characters together to become friends, allies, rivals, or enemies other than your OOC need to crawl into his pants - why should I or Tiergan care? What is there of substance thst would make a strong worthwhile bond?

i’m a firm believer in giving credit where credit is due to keep positive energy flowing and this is a callout post for @s-v-rasmussen. 

there has not been one moment in the last week where soren wasn’t there to pick me up when i’ve been down. there hasn’t been one day where he hasn’t checked up on me out of the blue. there hasn’t been one instant where he sensed something was kinda off with me and wasn’t there to talk it through with me. i’ve been very, very overwhelmed and overly emotional, and soren has been there every goddamn second for me. no matter how late or early.

i am so lucky to have him as not just a friend but a close friend, and i just wanted to give him the credit he deserves.

Clash, part two.

The air in the chamber was still, unmoving, almost tranquil as the Keeper seethed on the spot, the grip on her axe tightening up, eyes ablaze and body tense. The wounds she’d accumulated up until this point would pale in comparison to what she knew she was about to endure. She’d witnessed this once before - the games. All she could do was watch and prepare… A battlecry left her foe’s mouth, ringing through the chamber. A torrent of aether followed. Hayle dug her heels into the ground to prevent herself from being blown aside, her axe unmoving, the Keeper before her taking on a near monstrous form - his muscles swollen, fangs borne and chest heaving, his fists burning gold and surrounded by a pair of heads. Twisted, sneering, feline faces, maws which reeked of power and emanated dread. This was worse than before, far worse. She’d seen him unleash before - the act of opening his gates, yet she hadn’t experienced it to this degree. Any sane person would have ran, would have backed down and surrendered…but the Beast was taking over now, that defiant monster that would never yield to him. Her own aether rose to challenge his, twin fires, alone in this ancient place. But for one inferno to rage, the other must be extinguished.

There was no drawn out speech, nothing for her to say. Her foe had challenged her with honour. With dignity. There would be no taunting this day. Her feet began to move, followed by the rest of her body. She charged, headfirst towards her foe. For one inferno to rage…

Larkin’s handwriting has improved over the years after only being taught how to write at nine years old. It has especially improved since taking the Oath, as she has to sign her name far more often - So perhaps her signature is not the most fair representation of her handwriting. Alas, she’s proud of her L’s.
