Wdym Memnto Mori series has only 3 FANFICS ON AO3. I- desperately need more people to read it. I'll write a fanfic myself but...I need more people to read this splendid piece.
So....If you are into
-murder mysteries
-gay cops
-incrediable neurodivergent rep
-healthy relationships
-fun dynamics
-a lot of cultural refernces to art history, phylosophy, and 18th century western mourning rituals
-a handful of fun facts from various topics including psycology, queerness, plants, Marlene Monroe, and murder
-crime catching partners who are also work husbands and boyfriends in real life
-Heartcapturing silly yet layered complex unforgettable characters
-good queer literature in general
PLEASE check it out. I need more people to be normal about Larkin and Doyle.
Asha, née Larkin, in trying continually to break with her mother, living only ever as an inversion of the child she would have been. Unable to admit her mother any warmth and yet searching for her endlessly. Faulting the spread of Earthseed for what happened to her, and yet compiling the work which spreads Lauren's story and Earthseed. Refusing her mother's beliefs, branding them a cult and yet leaving behind her obsession with her mother's story as her own legacy. Never being able to grow a new connection, a new perspective between them that is free of Marc's hateful presence, and yet not able to stop writing about their relationship even after Lauren's death. Asha unable to move on, unable to form her life into anything other than the shadow of Larkin, a lost child never found; failing Lauren Oya Olamina's core principle of accepting change as an opportunity to shape your own destiny, over and over and over again every second of her life. Failing her not because she departs from the path set for her but because she refuses to shape her own. Where Lauren burns and buries Acorn and learns to see a different future for Earthseed, Larkin is still there, looking and studying and obsessing but never acting, never growing, never living. Asha as the foil to Lauren not because she is changed but because she isn't.
Evie and Ira.

THIS POST IS LONG BUT IMPORTANT. ‼️‼️
I try not to get too involved in any drama but I cannot stay silent on this any longer. Way too many times when I am watching dances on tiktok or instagram, creepy comments will come up. Looking at the profiles of the commenters, they often have folders and reposted videos of minors in dancewear, bathing suits, and doing suggestive things. The following lists of these accounts are extensive, listing mostly dance and gymnastics accounts and others with real or AI generated content which is too disturbing to even talk about iykyk. As a minor myself I find this so disturbing and I have tried to report all accounts I come across. Unfortunately I have reported tons of these accounts and none of them have been terminated. I am saying this as a reminder that while dance is an art form and should be expressed, it is unfortunately also a place for predators. At the end of the day, the distribution of children’s dance videos truly needs to be more regulated with the world we live in. While technically anyone can walk into a dance competition and no kid is truly safe, constantly posting these childrens routines publicly and not unlisted will pose possible risks. And many of the people who need to pay more attention to this are the parents who are willingly exposing their children to predators. This isn’t about choreography or costuming or even song choices- I feel we have come a long way with all of that actually. This is more about thinking before you post or support dance accounts because some of them might not have pure intentions. The community on here seems to be genuine, so I am mostly referring to other forms of social media. I also would like you guys to report suspicious accounts you may see on any of these platforms, this is something that has been on my mind a lot and I know you guys would be receptive to it! thank you for coming to my ted talk, and just please think before you post. lots of love 💕💕
always love getting to hang out with the happy hoppy miss Larkin 💛💛
