Here is how the modern date conversation went down!

Tristan (me): “Hey Sarah do you mind me asking what would be the perfect modern-day dates for the ACOMAF couples?”

Let me think here…*ponders* I can see Rhysand taking Feyre on a private jet ride to Paris where they would visit the Louvre and see the famous artwork inside. It would be romantic as they walked down the city streets and eventually wind up at the Eiffel Tower-

Josh (Sarah’s Husband): *teasing tone* Maybe I should be taking notes so I know where to take you for a date?

Sarah: *laughs* You definitely should! I wouldn’t mind a trip to Paris!

Sarah and Josh: *Continue to tease each other about dates AKA all around cuteness!*

Sarah: That reminds me! Lucien and Elain would go to London and tour through the gardens before making their way out to the countryside. They are pretty much happy to be out in nature the most.

Sarah: And for Cassian and Nesta they would go to a private island or the Maldives where they would have some quality alone time if you know what I mean. *insert suggestive look*

Tristan: *laughs* Oh yes! I can imagine them “venting anger” towards each other on the island!

Sarah: *chuckles* Oh my goodness yes! They would have a LOT of time to “vent that anger” alone together!

I find it fascinating that the people who loudly insist SJM didn't show us the Cauldron is corrupted for no reason are the same ones who think she made Lucien the only son and heir of the Day Court for no reason.

What is this fear you have of Lucien being a Prince of the Day Court? Is it because you know he would make Elain his High Lady?

As for the Cauldron being corrupted (even though that only applies to Elucien, screw Nessian, right?), we don't even have confirmation that the Cauldron is what creates the mating bond, not even Rhysand knows for sure.

Regarding the idea that "Elucien is a mistake of nature", SJM only said that Elain QUESTIONS this; at no point does she state that Elucien is a mistake of nature. She says Rhysand's parents were; Elain is just having doubts.

And even if it were true, we have Rowan and Aelin, SJM's number one best couple. If even Rowan didn't realize or accept right away that Aelin was his soulmate, why would Elain? She doesn't even know Lucien yet; Feyre herself says she won't give him the chance to get to know her. It’s the same situation with Gwynriel.

I don't even know if Gwyn is his mate (though I believe she is), but if she is, it’s perfectly okay not to realize or accept it immediately, that’s exactly why DEVELOPMENT exists. Unlike the Elriel shippers who claim Azriel has loved Elain, and she him, ever since Acomaf, even though his main concern in the second book was Mor, and Elain actually used a fork to defend herself against him, precisely because she didn't know him!

If Elucien really is a mistake of nature, that’s where the "TENSION, healing, and growth" comes in, the kind SJM said they would experience TOGETHER. She never even mentioned anything about Elriel in any of her interviews or livestreams.

If the Cauldron is corrupted, well, that’s a shame, but it won’t change a damn thing, seeing as Lucien was the mate who respected his mate’s space the most throughout the entire saga. It would be delightful to see Elain choose him regardless of the mating bond; even if she rejects it, that would still fit the "TENSION, healing, and growth together" dynamic SJM mentioned.

Now, you want me to believe that she revealed Lucien is Helion’s son for absolutely nothing and that he’s never even going to find out? Wattpad is the orange app, my friend.

“I don’t ever read bonus chapters, yes including that one. IMO they are basically deleted scenes and not really canon. I don’t enjoy reading random scenes I downloaded online. They can die mad about it because I don’t care. I don’t think a bonus chapter that is only available to a select few (apart from pirating it) is canon. If it is canon it will be written into Book 6. It’s also entirely possible it’s never referenced again since many of the other bonus chapters include irrelevant content. Even if you include it it’s still irrelevant because it’s set midway through the book so the ending is the same. “

Calling it not canon is straight up stupid. You’re not required to read these chapters that’s true, but it gives an insight and hints to future events.

These people will be so surprised by the plot of the next book.

I would automatically stop reading at the first sentence. If the person hasn't read it, there's no reason for me to argue with people who literally don't know what they're talking about.

If there’s one chapter I HATE with every fiber of my being, it’s that steamy Feysand scene after the war, with the two of them filthy and surrounded by the dead. But even though I hated it, I read the whole thing. Just like I read every interaction between Azriel and Elain, right up to the point where he realized things wouldn't go beyond him jerking off thinking about her, and after he told her to her face that it was a mistake. And I don’t regret it one bit, because I got to see him feel that glorious spark just at the thought of Gwyn’s smile.

If the author posted it, then it’s meant to be read. Anyone who skips this specific bônus, for which she said she was eager to read the theories, simply doesn't want to accept what’s in it:

Elriel has been buried and Gwynriel is emerging.

Context: I don't know if it was a mistake or intentional, but the Brazilian translation of the ACOTAR books got this part wrong and made it seem like Feyre was the one who invited Lucien to come to Velaris.

Instead of "I nudged Elain, who blinked at me, then blurted, “You could come to Velaris." They wrote "I nudged Elain, who blinked at me, then I blurted, “You could come to Velaris."

I like Elain, but for God's sake, the question here should be how GWYN is going to feel.

I’m not saying this because I’m an Elucien/Gwynriel stan, Elain gave that necklace back of her own free will, she CHOSE to do it. No one forced her; she did it Herself. It would be stupid for her to get upset with Azriel for giving the necklace, which SHE RETURNED, to someone else.

It’s literally none of her business anymore. It’s the same vibe as that stupid dynamic where the girl screams and cries for the guy to leave and let her alone, only to get upset later because he ACTUALLY left.

It’s pathetic.

You keep flooding the acotar tag with the part of chd when Sarah talks about initial spark. You realize as an avid reader herself, she doesn't mean a literal spark, right? In literature, regardless of genre, spark refers to the initial chemistry or attraction when people first meet. The first moments the main characters are on page together and have an undeniable connection. That is the dynamic she likes to read about and write for her end games. It's not the first time she's talked about it in interviews so her taking about it again in the chd interview is not some kind of hint or revelation. I'm not sure how much fantasy you've read, but if you're talking about literal sparks in fantasy/romantasy and especially in the Maasverse, it is almost always refers to magic. Magic is always described as sparking, electric, crackling etc. So the end of the bonus hints more at something magical happening. That's what she wanted readers to pay attention to.

Oh lord, I was absolutely certain that a firework-style spark exploded in Azriel’s chest and in Elain’s eyes when it happened.

Damn it, I was so sure the words "You are mine and I am yours" literally sang out complete with violins and guitars around Lucien and Elain. I was so sure Azriel’s shadows were blasting at max volume like a JBL speaker loud enough for even Tamlin to hear all the way from the Spring Court.
