mini tangent about a show from two decades ago but I hate when people say that michael didn’t care about sara and was just using her in the first season like ??? the only part of the original plan that involved sara/the infirmary was that he needed to corrode the pipe so they could escape through the window?? he maybe needed her to trust him to leave him alone in the room for a few moments, but the plan wasn’t contingent on her, wasn’t contingent on him flirting with her, wasn’t going to really include her in any way until it had to change at the last moment. and he was obviously conflicted about involving her, tried to steal her keys before asking her point blank even, and i just hate how everyone acts like because he did end up asking her to help him it means he was using her the entire time, that he only saved her during the riot because of the plan even tho really he was endangering the plan by saving her. anyways thank you for attending my ted talk

Okay I know we’re supposed to hate the Darkling but they really put a scene of him crying as he cradled his mother’s dying body in his arms and apologized through sobs and thought that we weren’t going to feel sorry for him?? Like I’m sorry I would do anything for that man. No one makes Ben Barnes cry and get away with it on my watch.

This a crazy and definitely completely inaccurate theory about 1899 but what if Eyk is actually a grown up version of Elliot that Maura created because she wasn’t ready to let go of him yet?

I mean, in the show, Maura literally says to Elliot, “One day you’ll be a grown man, and I’ll have to let you go.” Elliot was obviously not able to grow up and become that grown man, so Maura created her own reality where she is able to see him as a grown man.

Eyk is also the word “key” rearranged, which is definitely not a coincidence, and the word “key” is pretty much exclusively used to refer to whatever will help them escape the simulation. Regardless of whether this theory is true or no, he will be what helps them ultimately escape.

This theory would also help explain why Maura feels so protective and comfortable with Eyk (cupping his cheeks, stepping in front of him, etc), despite the fact that they apparently don’t have any history. Eyk and Elliot also have some basic physical similarities, so that also contributes to the theory lol.

What if, in order to escape the simulation, Maura had to look at Eyk/Elliot and finally let him go. She has to see him as a grown man, and accept that she has lost him.
