*His jaw clenches and loosens for a moment at the physical contact. He blinks rapidly again but this time isn’t able to blink the tears away fast enough. The second his eyes make contact with hers, his face crumples. He takes a shuddering breath, angrily wiping at his face. Clearly drunk from the way his words slur slightly and his eyes are foggy.*

“I… I really fuckin miss my mom. She’d be so fuckin disappointed in me.”

*He scoops the cat back up, cradling it to his chest and drawing his knees up to curl in on himself slightly. His voice gets quieter, smaller in a way none of the people in this room had ever heard before.*

“I just… I just want my mom.”

*A single tear rolls down her cheek, she reaches slowly and brushes her thumb softly against his cheek bone, wiping some of his tears away. She couldn't find the right words, what was there to say ? Instead, she leaned in and wrapped her arms around his shoulders, careful not to crush Lucien in his arms, offering a shoulder to cry on.*

"Let it all go Ben... I ain't leaving or moving... Let it go Babes.."

The door slid behind them, and the sudden smell of fresh baked goods and cinnamon came rushing in.

"Heeey, who wants a bite?" Evie sat beside Ben, placing the plate in front of him so it was at reach for the three of them. "How about we give Lulu a breath, yeah? You can hug him when you have your stomach full." She rubbed him between the shoulders: nice, firm and grounding. "Let's just enjoy the view. We're here for you."

Evie's eyes then turned to Dolly's. She reached out and rubbed the cocaine off from under her nose.

"There, all clean. I have to run an errand, so I called someone we all know and love to take care of the bunch of you. Jadie is surely on her way, but for now, let's eat, okay?"
