However, this time she must give up her love for Simon to the gatekeepers, the Emotion Traders, to gain entry. The understanding is that she will get the love back when she leaves. After a fruitless search she returns to the Traders, but someone has bought her emotion from them. Kate has to find the buyer and get her love for Simon back or she'll be stuck in Dusk forever.
