4yrs today..

4yrs ago today was the most painful time of my life.

I was going through an extremely painful break up and that alone was making me sick. The drugs they put me on didn’t work, the therapist had no advise and I had no family around me to turn to. But I was at the beginning of breaking through in my career as i’d just recorded Ass Back Home with Gym Class (with tears rolling down my face) so I had to keep my head above water.

I had just left equinox gym in New York, and on my way home when my media trainer text me sending me her condolence about Amy (Winehouse). My heart jumped out my body but then I got angry because I thought it was some kind of fucked up sick joke. I ran into the house shaking and asked my half boyfriend at the time “is it true?” He looked it up and.. It was.

God bless your soul Amy, like all of the people who cared for you, these past 4yrs have been tough and we’ve all dealt with our losses in our own way.

I have always believed in cycles of 4yrs, so May this day be the end of a dark cycle and the step into the light. I want to forget the pain and the sadness and remember the goodness in life.. Amy’s smile can light up an entire side of the planet!

Don’t take anyone for granted, and cherish life, it is what you make it!
