#WholeWorldWithSharapova
I stand with Maria Sharapova.
Iâd like to start by saying that like everyone else i was very shocked by the announcement however, after reading her statement many times and doing some proper research i now, more than ever support Maria, and i believe in her and believe this was simply a very unfortunate mistake and hereâs why: (Iâd like to point out that This is MY opinion iâm in no way trying to change yours⊠just wanted to express how im feeling over this.)
1. This is a drug that was just very very recently been banned and so as she had been taking for so long LEGALLY, it was overlooked and she or anyone probably never thought about the possibility of it being banned someday, but it was that a mistake. 2. I do however, believe it was reckless and irresponsible on Mariaâs and her teamâs behalf to not check the list but, its an honest mistake and it couldve happened to anyone, it shouldnt have but it did and we shouldnt put down people for their mistakes, everyone deserves a second chance. 3. This wasnât a drug she had taken maliciously to help her tennis or athleticism, rather it was taken with her health in mind. If you make a simple google search on meldonium youâll see that it is a drug with Multiple uses and the most common ones are heart diseases, diabetes, EKG among others 4. Several other athletes have failed their respective drug test because of Meldonium proving once again it was an honest mistake and just like it happened to one of the most high profile athletes in the world it happened to others9. 5. My final reason is the fact she came forward publicly, acknowledged her mistake and apologized, regardless if you say its âdamege controlâ or whatever, she did it, and no athlete has ever done it and i believe Maria was being very honest and humble about it
Iâd like to finish by saying that as many people in and outside the sport have pointed not just right now but throughout the years, is that Maria has always been known for her wonderful integrity and work ethic, and thatâs one of the reasons i personally admire her, so her taking drugs to enhance her performance just dont fit in with her.
I hope that weather you are a fan or not, youâll put yourself in her shoes and think about a mistake youâve nade and how you wish people has responded to it, sheâs a human being like the rest of us and no human being deserves to be hated upon or get scrutinized over their mistakes. Hate just keeps rottening our world and our society invest your time in something positive and helpful I also helieve the ITF will make the right decision and whatever that is i will accept it just like i know she will.
I stand with Maria today and always
âI donât want to end my career this wayâ âł Youâve made a mistake, but in your darkest hour I will support you no matter what.

âI had so many outs in my career. I could have said, âI donât need this. I have money; I have fame; I have victories; I have Grand Slams.â But when your love for something is bigger than all those things, you continue to keep getting up in the morning when itâs freezing outside, when you know that it can be the most difficult day, when nothing is working, when you feel like the belief sometimes isnât there from the outside world, and you seem so small. But you can achieve great things when you donât listen to all those things.â
Maria Sharapova wrote a powerful message to her fans thanking them for their support.

âI am determined to play tennis again and I hope I will have the chance to do so. I wish I didnât have to go through this, but I do - and I will.â âł Maria Sharapova, via Facebook
On the beach, despite the scandal and the naysayers.Â
Maria #Sharapova â To My Fans:I want to reach out to you to share some information, discuss the latest news, and let you know that there have been things that have been reported wrong in the media, and I am determined to fight back. You have shown me a tremendous outpouring of support, and Iâm so grateful for it. But I have also been aware that some â not all, but some â in the media distort, exaggerate and fail to accurately report the facts about what happened.A report said that I had been warned five times about the upcoming ban on the medicine I was taking. That is not true and it never happened.Thatâs a distortion of the actual âcommunicationsâ which were provided or simply posted onto a webpage.I make no excuses for not knowing about the ban. I already told you about the December 22, 2015 email I received. Its subject line was âMain Changes to the Tennis Anti-Doping Programme for 2016.â I should have paid more attention to it.But the other âcommunicationsâ? They were buried in newsletters, websites, or handouts. On December 18, I received an email with the subject line âPlayer Newsâ on it. It contained a newsletter on a website that contained tons of information about travel, upcoming tournaments, rankings, statistics, bulletin board notices, happy birthday wishes, and yes, anti-doping information. On that email, if a player wanted to find the specific facts about medicine added to the anti-doping list, it was necessary to open the âPlayer Newsâ email, read through about a dozen unrelated links, find the âPlayer Zoneâ link, enter a password, enter a username, read a home screen with more than three dozen different links covering multiple topics, find the â2016 Changes to Tennis Anti-Doping Program and Informationâ link, click on it and then read a page with approximately three dozen more links covering multiple anti-doping matters. Then you had to click the correct link, open it up, scroll down to page two and thatâs where you would find a different name for the medication I was taking. In other words, in order to be aware of this âwarningâ, you had to open an email with a subject line having nothing to do with anti-doping, click on a webpage, enter a password, enter a username, hunt, click, hunt, click, hunt, click, scroll and read. I guess some in the media can call that a warning. I think most people would call it too hard to find. There was also a âwallet cardâ distributed at various tournaments at the beginning of 2016, after the ban went into effect. This document had thousands of words on it, many of them technical, in small print. Should I have studied it? Yes. But if you saw this document (attached), you would know what I mean.Again, no excuses, but itâs wrong to say I was warned five times. There was also a headline that said, â4-6 Weeks Normal Treatment for Drug in Maria Sharapova Case.â That headline has been repeated by many reporters who fail to tell their viewers and readers what the rest of the story says. The story quotes the manufacturer of my medicine as saying: âTreatment course can be repeated twice or thrice a year. Only physicians can follow and evaluate patientâs health condition and state whether the patient should use meldonium for a longer period of time."Thatâs exactly what I did. I didnât take the medicine every day. I took it the way my doctor recommended I take it and I took it in the low doses recommended.Iâm proud of how I have played the game. I have been honest and upfront. I wonât pretend to be injured so I can hide the truth about my testing.I look forward to the ITF hearing at which time they will receive my detailed medical records.I hope I will be allowed to play again. But no matter what, I want you, my fans, to know the truth and have the facts. - Maria â
iâm only going to speak about maria sharapovaâs failed drug test once so here it goes.Â
maria made a fucking mistake, a big one but not one that should discredit her reputation and her achievements. we know she fucked up, she didnât read the email that stated the drug sheâs been taking her whole career was newly banned and that was stupid. but at the end of the day it looks like an honest mistake, it was only banned 28 days when she was caught taking it because she was completely oblivious and thatâs why i will continue to stand by her and continue to support her no matter what.
âIf I was retiring, it wouldnât be in a downtown L.A. hotel with this ugly carpet.â - Maria Sharapova
Hereâs the thing about Maria Sharapova.Â
I am sad to hear that she failed her drug test, but it seems that she didnât do this on purpose. As a Maria fan most people know that she is a person of integrity, and it takes a lot to admit that this happened. I giver her props, she could have tried to hid it but instead she decided to be open and remorseful about it. You can tell that it was truly an accident and she didnt mean for this to happen. Thats all I have to sayÂ
Also: stop trying to bring Serena into this. This has nothing to with her so why even bother?Â
i still love you
Wow! They always accused Serena Williams of doping.
