studyblr intro!
Hey there! I’m Caitie, and I’ve been lurking around studyblr for a while. Seeing all of your cool photos and graphics and advice has been so motivating even as I’ve been watching from the outskirts of the community, so I thought I‘d finally jump in and introduce myself!
About me!
she/her, 17
incoming university freshman
biochemistry major
christian
pre-PhD/hoping to pursue a career in research
Other things I like!
reading
adding books to my to-read list and not reading them
writing, when motivation suddenly strikes
playing piano
doodling very poorly
adding unnecessary sarcastic parantheticals
Blogs I really like!
@jeonchemstudy - @marie-curie - @cheeringyouon - @raincoatscoming - @kei-i - @my-study-world - @catestudyblr
and loads of other really cool people that I can't remember at this moment because I have a terrible memory. (Does that bode well for the whole going to university thing?)
I'd love to meet more studyblrs, especially any other pre-PhD students/incoming first years! Interact with this post and I'll check out your blog ❤
dreaming of last summer
Picked these flowers on my way home to classify them for my exam herbarium 🌼
🌿 The purple one is Malva sylvestris (Malvaceae), the yellow one is Hypericum coris (Guttiferae)!
summer 2025 // spent some very calm days at the coast. now i should get back into working, but my head is so full.
01.07.2025 // had the most peaceful weekend in months while reading a lot, picking strawberries and just enjoying the sun.

I'm at my aunt's by the shore :D trying to relax before I start research up, I've brought 2 library books and I'm halfway through the first one! I love taking sunset/sunrise photos so I may post a bunch of those..
no one can break the bond between a girl and a show from the 2000s that have 40 minute episodes and 20 episode seasons
In the L.M. Montgomery canon, there is a single book not set in some way on Prince Edward Island, and this is The Blue Castle, which is set entirely in Ontario (of all places).
For utterly unrelated reasons, The Blue Castle is also my favorite of her works, primarily because Valancy Sterling has led an utterly unremarkable life of being squished into a corner and then receives terrible news and decides "wow, fuck this" and goes INSANE (per her family, who do not deserve her and gave her a stupid nickname).
And I just think there's something lovely about a woman (deemed ugly and unwanted and undesirable and old) going out and claiming the life she's always wanted but been too scared to try and have.
And she has an absolutely marvellous time doing it, let me tell you.
Sunny evening with wine, frozen berries and an amazing book <3
physics girlies unite
My study sessions of late are more reading for fun and less reading for study than I’d like to admit but the cozy season is here
24.10.2024 // just came back from a trip to Italy, read three and a half books and took some time to process the fact that i actually finished my master studies.
bingewatching will never come close to bingereading. there is nothing like blocking out the entire Earth for ten hours to read a book in one sitting no food no water no shower no bra and emerging at the end with no idea what time it is or where you are, a dried-up prune that's sensitive to light and loud noises because you've been in your room in the dark reading by the glow of a single LED. it's like coming back after a three-month vacation in another dimension and now you have to go downstairs and make dinner. absolutely transcendental
