Curiosities: ♦ Sturm revealed in 2013 that she signed a publishing deal with Baker Publishing Group. She has two book published: The Reason: How I Discovered a Life Worth Living and The Mystery: Finding Love in a World of Broken Lovers. ♦ In February 2016, Sturm became the first solo female to top the Billboard Hard Rock Albums chart with her debut release.

Personal life: ♦ Sturm was an atheist prior to becoming a Christian. She had contemplated suicide and then ended up in a church where a man spoke to her what she believed to be words from God, which led to her becoming a Christian.
