Question Re: Murphy being in a wheelchair— is this supposed to be representation? If so that is so awesome that they included this. But I’m also wondering for what reason he is in a wheel chair and unable to walk— Magic can regrow bones and stuff- why not regrow his legs? Madame Pomfrey can fix about anything as good as a healer. Basically my question is- DID MURPHEY GET HIT WITH DARK MAGIC CURSE???? And that’s why his legs can’t be fixed? Like Mad Eye had all those injuries and was missing a leg but those were injuries from dark magic. Or George, when they couldn’t grow back his ear and Mrs. Weasley said it was because it was dark magic.

I think its more of a genetics type issue. Just as there is with Modern Medicine, Magic can only do so much to heal others. Perhaps it's nerve damage that makes it so he cant use his legs. Maybe it's that he suffers from Vrolick's syndrome, a hereditary issue that makes your bones far more Brittle and suseptable to breaking.

Or maybe it's problems on the opposite scale. Perhaps it's that Magical healing hasn't advanced that far yet? Maybe while they can heal bones, they aren't able to do anything that goes to the nervous system unless it's been affected by a curse or similar. Perhaps they haven't advanced medicine as much since many wizarding school teach protection charms and spells in hopes to avoid needing medical attention after a spell duel?

All things considered, my question is: How does he get up the grand Staircase?

Don't be fooled, new Ben is still depressed, he's just coping with his trauma.

New Ben takes unnecessary risks and doesn't fear for his life, because he doesn't care if he dies or not right now. He is trying to go in the complete opposite direction of his old self. But it's just another extreme in his depression, from being overprotective of himself, to not caring at all.
