Watching the adaptation of We Were Liars and so far deeply disappointed.

I'm re reading the book now, and maybe the magic I remember is different because I'm not a teen anymore, but dang the series changed a lot. And I've read the books so many times back in the day so I've been dying for a screen adaption 💔

I feel like I'm the only one who's bothered by it.

I think they tried to make it more dramatic, and maybe include things from the prequel, Family of Liars and project them on the group of Liars rather than the moms.

For example, the mentioning or Rosemary, having more random people on the island for some reason, and the weird plot of Johnny being gay.

It annoys meee so much, we got that gay rep in the prequel. The whole point of this story about the Sinclairs is how "perfect" they are in the extreme standarts of society. If Harris is being lowkey racist do you really think he won't be homophobic too? Pffft

Just feels like they're trying to put the plot from the sequel in this adaption to, and I don't like it.

The casting is also..m idk, it's so clear all the Sinclair liars are bleached blond, it's not giving the right vibe imo, feels fake. But that's not really that important and at least it contributes to the whole point of the story.

Anyways, I'm only in episode 3 so my opinion might change, but uhh so far it is what it is.
