A typographic alphabet made from found waste/office materials. This was a workshop that I led for a range of designers, strategists and engineers.
2020 “Reinvent” typography made from papercut and folded cardstock.
HOB logotype laser cut into walnut and arranged with matches (later lit on fire).
House metaphor objects staged on solid color paper backdrop, used for a quick brand project within the home-buying industry. Shot with a mirrorless camera and a fixed lens.
Cheers to 2019! Loose script type done in white, semi-transparent ribbon, assembled alongside tree branches, noisemakers and glasses of whiskey (which I later enjoyed!).
A late thanksgiving post featuring scripted 3D monoweight type: “stuffed”. Done in acrylic gouache paint on craft paper.
Watercolor pattern studies through mixed shapes and lines. I made some of these into book covers afterwards.
A custom thank you card with all caps art deco type with embellished frame edge. I’ve added a soft noise to the background to create more of a subtle vintage look.
My first script! A custom thank you card with hand-lettered french-inspired deco script. Embellished with a fanned deco pattern.
Composition 4 “Wash Away” from a collaborative object type project called “Let Go”. This piece was done with chalk on asphalt and water.
Composition 3 “Saute” from a collaborative object type project called “Let Go”. This piece was done simply with butter on a hot pan.
Composition 2 “Melt” from a collaborative object type project called “Let Go”. This piece was done with frozen grape juice on a distressed painted wood surface.
Composition 1 “Evaporate” from a collaborative object type project called “Let Go”. The series explores methods of destructing/reconstructed type, inspired by the act of letting go of control. This piece was done with painted water on a hot sidewalk.
A Teeny Tahini Love! A scripted type exploration using tahini on patterned book paper.
“One Big Hoppy Family” typography composition for the third article of AIGA Boston’s Brewing + Design blog series. Hand-lettered “hoppy” type + secondary type set in hop leaves and grains on black mat board.
“Designing Ale for Scale” typography for the second article of a Brewing + Design blog series. Type laser etched into transparent acrylic and filled with beer.
“Brew-Ti-Ful” blueprint typography for a Brewing + Design blog series. Hand-drawn type in white colored pencil on blue Canson paper.
