Hi, this is my first time asking on "Ask Me Anything" :) What do you think is the hardest bossfight to deal with, each in main and Hikkikomori route?

Sorry it took me so long to respond I've been busy!

Oh gosh this is a tricky question cause each boss fight pissed me off in its own... special way!

On a first playthrough normal route, Sweetheart initially made me angry because I was an under leveled noob. I also felt it wasn't fair she could lazer beam us all to be angry in one turn while she was stuck at Ecstatic when Happy beats angry. But as a regular player, I think this is decently easy to deal with now.

I also think there's something to be said about both Jawsome and Pluto. Jawsome being he has those damn Gator Guys at his beck and call and Pluto being that you have no time to recover from Jawsome before being thrown into his battle completely unprepared. I mean he can throw the damn EARTH at you!

The Slime Girls aren't too much of a challenge if you're properly leveled and prepared for the Juice/Heart switch-up, but Humphrey. HUMPHREY man. I know this is a basic answer, but you're drained from the Slime Girls plus Humphrey fucking SUCKS. "time to feast time to feast" TIME FOR YOU TO STFU it genuinely feels never ending and it makes me so angry.

As for the Hikkomori route, OBVIOUSLY Perfectheart is the most difficult boss in the game, and Mutantheart provides her own challenges if you don't have a solid strat. Abbi is also really difficult to beat because of all those damn tentacles but really she's mostly challenging because she just makes me sad.

Same with Omori. Difficult to beat on a first playthrough, and also just depressing.

But final answers!!

For the Normal Route I'm gonna say Humphrey and for the Hikkomori Route I'm gonna say Perfectheart

I know those are pretty basic answers but hey it makes sense! These are objectively challenging boss fights.

(please keep in mind I've never fought Bossman Hero or done the Final Stage of Boss Rush because I don't have Omori on console 😭)

thoughts on the omori manga if you’ve read it?

I have such conflicting feeling about it! (Some good, a lot of bad.)

On one hand I think it's a really neat idea, and I also love the art style. The manga offers a lot that the game doesn't. Some new scenes, characters, alternative ways to move the story forward. Sort of like a slightly different AU of Omori. (That being said, the characters aren't completely themselves at times, which can get annoying.)

On the other hand, the pacing is absolutely abysmal, as is the general episodic progression of the story. It doesn't feel natural. It reads as "We squeeze this part of the game in here, now make up a really quick way to transition to this next part of the game" so all the events of the game can happen in a quick orderly fashion that's digestible for a manga outline. (Ex, Sunny can go to and from headspace essentially whenever so he doesn't have to go all the way home to bed) I get why they condescended the game in such a manner, but it just reads as super rushed. If I was reading the manga as someone who had never played the game I would be so confused.

Also as a Mari superfan I've been consistently disappointed with her lack of appearances, especially as a character that's meant to serve the narrative so much.

To conclude, I do get excited about new chapters and new aspects of a story we haven't really seen before (the basil body horror in the newest chapter....WOW) but at the same time when I read the manga I do get a little angry, haha.
