Images of my ITP Camp 2016 project: a wearable Super-hero utility belt!
Everything was made my hand, from the adjustable belt & pouch, to the 3D printed hook-on storage clasps, including a soft circuit that changes a value of a LED (brightens/dims light when you rotate the potentiometer).
Presenting my main project from ITP Camp 2016: my super-hero utility belt! Well, one main aspect of it! I made a utility belt with some wearable components, primarily a potentiometer connected to an Arduino Lilypad that brightens and dims an LED.
My main challenge was not just sewing all of these component with the limited amount of fabric I had on hand (considering I was sewing all this onto a belt) but immediate integration between Lilypad and Unity. While I got both working together, I did not have the bluetooth sensor to make the utility belt work wirelessly with Unity.
Not the best documentation but this is mainly to demo the potentiometer.
Storyboard Prototype
Bit-Tray is a videogame controller designed for players with medium dexterity (i.e. users with carpal tunnel syndrome). Bit-Tray is designed for players to play videogames without having to bend their joints in their fingers. Bit-Tray's final process includes modelling, building and assembling various pieces of MDF (medium density fibreboard) & blue foam, soldering and programming an Arduino Pro Mini with 5 buttons and a joystick and programming the Arduino alongside a game I designed, programmed and did art assets for in Unity.
