Over the course of his career, Mark H. Dunaway has facilitated the growth of numerous start-up and developing companies. He has distinguished himself as founder and CEO of A Beeper and A Cellular, which became the exclusive distributor for 16 companies operating under the AT&T umbrella. After five years, Mark H. Dunaway sold both companies to the Bell Atlantic. Also involved in the funding of numerous startups, Mark H. Dunaway stands out as founder and owner of Dunaway Enterprises, through which he invested in six companies and facilitated the initial public offering (IPO) of Omega Environmental. He went on to lead the IPO of PNI Technologies, a startup wireless network provider based in Atlanta, Georgia. Mr. Dunaway also served as CEO and Chairman of Composite Materials Technology, a position that he accepted having invested in the company at the startup stage through Criterion Partners. He led the company for three years and expanded its scope nationally through two major acquisitions. He was also effective in creating a strategic alliance with a French company, thereby building a strong organization that he ultimately sold to the Philips. Mark H. Dunaway went on to a three-year tenure as managing partner with The Atlantic Partners, through which he developed a platform for revenue stabilization and growth planning. Boy Scouts of America Outdoor Programs

Camp Kiwanis Provides Outdoor Recreation Opportunities to BGCMA Youth

Leveraging over 35 years of experience as an executive in multiple business sectors, Mark H. Dunaway serves as managing partner with California's BDK Consulting Group, where he helps business owners and investors develop strategic plans for long-term success. A longtime supporter of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta (BGCMA), Mark H. Dunaway twice chaired the organization's annual campaign. The BGCMA is comprised of 25 clubs and serves over 3,300 adolescents living in the city's underserved communities. Its programs are centered on inspiring confidence in children and preparing them for academic success. Outside of its regular programming, the BGCMA operates Camp Kiwanis, where young people receive a variety of recreational opportunities to help them reach their full potential. Located in Madison County, Camp Kiwanis is comprised of 17 buildings capable of housing and supporting 100 people. Near the camp are over two miles of hiking and biking trails, a mineral spring, and a variety of wildlife. In addition to enjoying its natural surroundings, visitors can participate in archery, fishing, swimming, and kayaking. The camp's outdoor programs include retreats such as Passport to Manhood and Girl Power Summit, as well as weekend adventures for up to 20 people. Varieties of winter squashes and pumpkins do well in a winter garden alongside root vegetables such as beets, carrots, and turnips. Other vegetables that can be planted in fall and grown throughout the winter include artichokes, onions, garlic, cauliflower, and broccoli. Even leafy greens such as kale, chard, and spinach are suitable for cool-weather gardening. Typically, winter vegetable gardens involve less work because they require minimal space and do not experience many issues with pest infestations. Aphids and slugs can still be a problem during the winter months, but they can be controlled rather easily to ensure that one’s winter crop continues to produce throughout the season.

BGCMA’s Summer Brain Gain Permits Learning to Continue in Summer

Outside of his professional life, Mark H Dunaway also gives back to the community in myriad ways, twice serving as campaign chair for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta (BGCMA) consists of 25 clubs serving over 3,300 kids and teenagers in some of Atlanta’s most underserved communities. With a three-pronged approach aimed at ensuring academic success, character and leadership, and healthy lifestyles, BGCMA’s programs and services are available to Atlanta youth three or more days a week throughout the year. One such program, BGCMA’s Summer Brain Gain, is aimed at helping students retain the information learned over the course of the school year. Designed for elementary, middle, and high school students, the program includes fun, themed projects that permit students to work on different activities each week, culminating in a final production. BGCMA’s Annual Youth of the Year Fundraising Gala

During his career as an entrepreneur, Mark H. Dunaway has launched nearly a dozen companies, including his most recent venture, BDK Consulting Group located in Millbrae, California. Throughout his career, Mark H. Dunaway has balanced his professional activities with various charitable pursuits. He has supported several organizations, including the Boys and Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta.
