Seriously now, how many of you would be interested in purchasing a Life is Strange fanbook themed around Mark Jefferson? And how many would actually be willing to create content for it? Since Jefferson would be the main theme, it could be anything involving him really, including him alone or together with any character (no matter if an everyday interaction or as a couple). Also, unlike Vortex Zine, I would gladly accept not only fanart authors, but fanfiction authors too, so it would be a broader fan-inclusive project. Thanks in advance for your input on the matter!
Jefferson fanbook is going to happen!
It’s going to feature multiple printable content -- I am looking for submissions of fanart, fanfiction and cosplay as well. Feel free to contact me via either Tumblr message box or through the ask box. Please mind asks received will be answered here in public, if you’re regarding private matters I encourage you sending them through the Tumblr chat so we can talk better about it.
I am already looking into printing options for the book and some nice goods to go with it. Also shipping costs worldwide, possible taxes involved, etc.
How would you feel about having the proceeds donated somewhere? I’ve been looking into a few artist-related organizations accepting donations. I’d be willing to share since all I want is to see the book being realized into something palpable, such project would fill my heart with love and happiness <3
Now let’s show some appreciation to the feedback received so far:
@amazonlotusvampire Thanks for the heads up! How exactly would you like to help? Would you be a consumer or would you be willing to contribute with a piece for the book?
@beverllarke Thanks for your interest in becoming a member of this project! =D Since it's going to be our own book, I wouldn't want to apply any kind of limitations to it's content regarding age ratings, so it's okay to let your imagination run wild, although I'd like to review all entries before including them into the final book, just in case it would get too extreme for the anti-Jefferson parties out there, even though they are clearly not the target audience of the book, I wouldn't like to get into unforeseeable troubles, however, I think the inclusion of a large-lettered disclaimer first-page can make it okay for any kind of content.
@helensblake That's what the fanbook project is aiming for! It's open for any kind of content regarding Jefferson, including how would his relationship be like with Rachel and Frank, so please look forward our book's release!
@entaiho Thank you so much for your interest in being part of the fanbook! <3 You can submit both of them if you'd like to! As for fanfiction length, one-shots are the only way since I believe it would be a single volume book. I'd say up to six pages of content for each fanfiction entered, that would be around 1400 words (A5 size written at Arial 10 for reference).
I’m really glad to announce our Vortex Zine copy got delivered today! 👌
The double-paged illustrations are beautiful to see on the book itself, also all of the extra goods are looking absolutely adorable and they’re of a surprisingly good quality, especially the buttons and the charms <3
Congratulations to everyone involved in the production of @vortexzine -- it felt amazing to help fund such a project, I’d love to see more collaborations spawning from the Life is Strange community coming and going everywhere around the world =D
LiS fandom: You suck Mr. Jefferson, you’re evil and a psychopath! >:(
Mr. Jefferson:
How he sees himself:
What's even funnier is that part of the villain's "charm points" is exactly "being a villain" =) Liking a villain because they are evil, liking a villain because they are mentally unstable, and/or liking a villain because they are narcissistic, these are all valid reasons for liking a fictional character. Dear Life is Strange fandom, don't be a party pooper.
I have a question. I am not attacking you. Why do you like Jefferson so much? Or why do you ship jefferson x max? You say he changed your life and he is important to you. The most people in the fandom hates him so i would be interested in why do you like him.
Story time, I guess?
Rewinding back to July-August 2016, a reliable friend had told me about LiS, it had just gone free with Episode 1 so I tried it anyway… after much effort from said friend, let’s estimate they were 80% certain I would like it, but I was kinda reluctant at first, they had to bug me a lot about trying LiS.
When I tried it, I immediately fell in love with many things about it. Mostly the ambience, soundtrack, the sci-fi twist to the mundane setting, the mystery surrounding the missing girl, but most importantly, Mark Jefferson.
He is coincidentally very alike a teacher I had during high school (that’s a period from some 15 years ago), from the good looks to the positive attitude towards the students. It felt too nostalgic, yet I did not realize that coincidence until later on – in the beginning I simply felt subconsciously too fond of him.
Too fond. When I did read Max’s journal and saw how she had this absolute worship to him, I knew I had to make him notice her. I made Max talk to him insistently every chance I had, I kept listening to him at his phone in Episode 2, I fought Victoria back, I rejected Warren, Chloe and every NPC at Max’s age I had the chance to talk to. In the end of Episode 4 I was kinda wishing Max would have a chance to finally deliver her homework, but she didn’t, and although Chloe abusively tried to pull Max out of the party, Max stays there for Jefferson, even though she knows she’s not winning it because she didn’t even deliver to begin with, but she wants to see him shining at the spotlights as much as I did want to see it.
Enter the plot twist (refer here for my couple ¢ about it). Jefferson took Max to the coolest-looking secluded safeplace in the entire game. That’s it, he would have her one way or another! He actually reciprocates her admiration towards him, in his own twisted way, by taking numerous pictures of her, forever capturing her beauty through his lenses… on top of it all, protecting Max from the heavy storm outside – the Dark Room is a bunker after all.
…Yet all Max has to say about his efforts on this romantic getaway is “Fuck you”.
But then we are given a first-hand experience inside her mind, and of course her mind reboots itself at the classroom, his classroom, but since it was Max’s conception, of course it became their own private classroom. Of course Max confesses to Jefferson. Of course she would tint the world a bloody red to stay with him.
Of course I ship them.
Now we are ready to get back to the beginning and wrap it up: When I met Life is Strange, I was at a particularly low point in my life. Jefferson not only rang the nostalgia bell, but getting to know his true self actually helped me come to terms with my inner darkness.
I no longer fought my bad thoughts back, I simply embrace them the way they are, and they now leave me as quickly as they come, I don’t get stuck with such thoughts anymore.
That, and Jefferson also helped me understand some other fields of my own brain better, like realizing how restraint is a huge turn on to me.
I think this answers all of your questions? Sorry if it’s too long, I can’t really express how important a character is by using short statements.
@entaiho Haha, mine wasn't as beautiful as Jefferson either, but he carried a nice beard & glasses combo, black glasses frames as thick as Jefferson's, dark brown hair, did not dress as sharply however always wore a white overall like a doctor, it kinda gave him the eerie vibes even though he was such a cool person. English teacher (a foreign language here), since I learned English from a young age, I knew quite a lot already, so he applied a different exam to me and one other student from our class because he saw we were on a different level -- instead of rubberbanding us to the rest of the class, he dutifully certified we were learning new things just as well. Wish all my teachers were as good as he was.
So how sure are you about your teacher not having such a big secret? =D
@finnrey-is-canon I respect Max so much I did not go against her canon, unchangeable and sincere marriage dream. I support her instead of bashing her.
Jonathan and his plant -doodles from last night
May Max take good care of Lisa, or else Reid is coming for revenge.

Mood after finishing Captain Spirit:
Seriously, that shit was good and now I’m super hyped for LiS 2
Slow and profound breathing saved me from crying my eyes out, but then again, I was already expecting Dontnod to tear me up since they are real masters of human emotions =,) Moral rule of LiS: don't be a drug addict. Moral rule of CS: don't be an alcohol addict. We've seen families crumble because of such evils =/
Captain Spirit spoilers
So…

1990-1995 dates to Jefferson being 15 to 20 years old, that's the time period when he started to get recognition in the world of style and fashion photography.
Although it is unknown if he attended Blackwell as a younger student, it is known he attended both high school and the American Academy of Art at Chicago, not Arcadia Bay. He afterwards went to New York and only then began his career as a photographer with his trademark B&W style. Somehow then, Jefferson started lecturing, and moved back to Arcadia Bay in the late 2000's to lecture at Blackwell Academy (which is why Before the Storm is a glorified fanfiction, because there's no way Victoria was a student at Blackwell when Jefferson was not lecturing there yet), where he carried out a massive restructuring which made Blackwell into the renowned senior place Max describes within the first pages of her journal.
I find it kind of impressive to see how Jefferson moved all across the United States as his career went along.
Holy Jefferson, he lives =D

MY VORTEX ZINE COPY JUST HIT THE COUNTRY TODAY!
Now it’s only a few more weeks of agony until it actually gets delivered, hope it doesn’t get taxed~
So I have seen the PDF they kindly sent to people who bought the physical package as well, must say I am slightly surprised by the actual variety of it's content.
Here's a list of characters featured, ordered by most prominent first:
7 Pricefield 4 Amberprice 4 group shot (4, 7, 8 characters) 3 Amberpricefield 3 Chasescott 3 Kate 2 Chasefield 2 Grahamfield 2 Grahamscott 2 Marshfield 2 Chloe 1 Chloe & Skip 1 Kate & Alice 1 Nathan 1 Jefferson 1 Victoria, Courtney & Taylor 1 abstract (no character featured)
Considering a book with 40 illustrations (not counting the extra gifts like the postcards), having 3/4 of it's content as things other than my top unsupported couple is surprising indeed -- was pondering on burning the book when I first saw the cover photo, but it actually was well worth participating in it's realization after all, even though it has no Jefferfield.
Sometimes I wonder if I should start a fanbook project focused on Jefferson... there would be close to no supporters after all.
Episode 1 of #LifeisStrange2 will release on September 27th 2018.
Further information about DONTNOD’s #LifeisStrange2 will be revealed this August.
LiS2 is going to be about "life lines", just like the first game was about "time lines". I'm calling it already. Please read about the Moirai if you're interested about this theory.
Michel Koch ftw
Seriously though, no hate. We all love Life is Strange and all its characters (yes, even Jefferson. A good story always needs a great antagonist imho). So let everyone ship who they like to ship. And although I’m new to the Lis fandom, I have to say the LiS fans I’ve met so far here are all so nice and kind, you guys are awesome. ;)
Never been a better time to print this tweet, Koch finally removed the avatar with conditioning abuser Chloe in it!
Here are the release timings for when you will be able to download and play Captain Spirit entirely for free!
Okay, I think that translates to about 13:00 at GMT-3, in which case I'm to stay the whole Monday afternoon playing it -- wasn't really expecting to get it the day before the announced date, but of course that's great news!
Eyelash appreciation.
Just got sent this song and it reminds me of Jefferfield way too much...
A little less about Jefferson/Max dynamics and more like how the general LiS fandom seems to excruciate people who ships it, you know, "there'll be times when my crimes will seem almost unforgivable, I give in to sin because you have to make this life livable."
