It mirrored and wrapped up themes that had been there since the first season. Which they didn't watch.

Dean went out saving kids, just like he did when he originally should have died in Faith. His way of dying, his idea of happiness and a happy ending being Sam getting to have a life, all of this is things he's said for fifteen years. The callbacks to pilot episode lines and even wardrobe. Jared and Jensen poured their hearts and souls, literally their blood sweat and tears, into that finale.

The series finale was a bookend for the Winchester Gospel, and in the end everything came down to Sam and Dean.

Because that was the show. Sam and Dean together, saving people and hunting things.

It was Mishap who betrayed his character. A character who had been too close to humans for thousands of years already. For example. He destroyed his character and his career in one scene. Everything else from all those years went by the wayside. Now, he's got nothing left. Just half of a shitty little one sided crush that his friend was cold to. That's all Cas is now.

Hi i am new to this fandom and i have a question about Jensen. I know that his character Dean gets called bi or gay and you talked abour this already that his character is straight but now i have seen people saying that Jensen is gay? It confuses me because one side says he is straight and one side says the opposite.

I heard that he only married his wife to cover that but i doubt thats the case, i read a lot of stuff about their marriage. But yeah most of them say its because he never showed being really attracted to women or bc of his "loveless" marriage. But then again it comes off as oh if he was in a happy loving marriage with a women he isnt gay. I am not saying being gad is bad or anything dont get me wrong.

Just hoping that you could maybe clarify some things about this if not thats okay.

Whew, that’s a tough question there anon, but I’ll do my best to navigate those waters.

So ‘Jensen is gay’ rumors have followed him AT LEAST since he was on Days of Our Lives starting back in 1998. Possibly even before, back into his modeling days. Back on DOOL, there were rumors of a relationship with his friend/costar Austin Peck. Granted, there was no evidence of that. Just attractive young men being friends was enough to fuel the rumors and some unfounded bts stories.

He was in relationships with a few women during the next years pre-supernatural.

Then SPN started. Enter Jared Padalecki. As we all know, they had famously instant chemistry and became the best of friends out the gate. Jason Manns (who Jensen was living with in LA at the time) has told the story at cons about how Jensen came home after meeting Jared and couldn’t stop talking about him. I can’t remember if he said “smitten” or “a man in love” here. Though both have been used to describe early J2 talking about each other. Even though it was not intended to be taken in a romantic way.

That chemistry irl and on screen instantly led to not only the first Wincest fic being released mere hours after the first episode aired, but also Jared becoming the first Alpha in fanfiction and Jensen the first Omega. At the same time, the J2 tinhats started coming into existence and the gay relationship rumors between Jared and Jensen took off in full force. Once again, no true evidence. Just rumors and their undeniable chemistry.

Both were in relationships with women, during all of this. Eventually meeting and marrying their wives. The wives were both accused of being beards. The gay rumors were just as strong after they married as before.

Another thing you have to know about J2 is…..well, they really don’t help those rumors very much. Those two have a very unique male relationship. They are so close. They say they are brothers on tv and in real life. They are definitely more intimate than your typical bro’s are. Though they have never done or said anything inherently homosexual.

Anyway, when I say there are tons of things like this I mean there are tons. Find some J2 tinhat blogs and read up if you are interested.

Am I a tinhat? Technically no, but I like to joke that I keep on buried in the back of my closet because sometimes you see things like this and go “boys! What are you doing?!?!?” They make it hard not to want to believe sometimes.

As much as I don’t want to mention this, because it’s not my side of the fandom. To answer this question fully I do have to bring up the Cockles shippers. These are the people who think that Jensen and Misha are in a real life gay relationship. There is no evidence of this either, and it really seems that Jensen barely sees him as a work friend. The Cockles shippers are believers though. So if you want more information on that you can search for those blogs as well. Though take their evidence with a grain of salt and verify what really happened because they are known to edit things to go their way?

TLDR; Pretty boys often get called gay. J2 has a super intimate heterosexual relationship. (That’s my story and I’m sticking to it) Cockles shippers are ridiculous, but they exist.

One little thought to add, is that alongside the Cockles/Destiel thing their arguement that it's obviously Jensen's own gayness shining through. If he thought he was playing Dean as straight and totally failed at that then it's obvious that he was just so in love with Misha that he couldn't hide it. So if they can't make Dean be in love with Cas then they'll make Jensen be in love with Misha. This love apparently includes (just verbal irl) abuse, being at most the second choice behind Sam/Jared, getting mocked, being the third wheel outsider, and all the other things that we see happening between them.

As far as anyone knows except maybe those closest to him, Jensen is straight. He described himself as being like Dean because he's also "a lover of the ladies". His exes have all been women.

My husband's a slight tinhat. Maybe like a tinheadband or tinbandana. We agree he and Jared are not normal about each other. But to me, that alone isn't enough to be saying he's gay.

The history of “bi lighting” originated from fans of Sherlock (unsurprisingly looking at background details to try to “get evidence” for their made up ship whilst ignoring the actual text - sound familiar?). It was made up by shippers, not the industry. More specifically, it came about in 2014 and was a fucking meme. The air date for this particular episode of Supernatural was 2013. Before this became a “thing”

“Bisexual lighting” is not taught in film school as a legitimate medium. What is taught is lighting palettes can signify certain moods or atmospheres. E.g as in real life, blue is calming, red can be aggression etc. In terms of “bi lighting”, this is the top answer.

But also it’s used to signify change, either time going from day to night or a change in a person or situation. One of the people involved in SPN was asked about the “bi lighting” and he said it wasn’t a thing in SPN. There’s a tweet for it.

However, thanks to the dumbass shippers, it has now become a thing that IS used. I personally hate it, it’s not representation which should be clear and not in the subtext.

Do many people in the wild even recognise the colours of the bisexual flag? Most don't know any beyond the basic rainbow pride flag unless they're actually part of the community.

Following a post on a different blog and i had to agree with the anon . The commentment speech was a little bit like a C .V of Jensens work life with little bits thrown in about his struggles to try and link with the students . I would have preferred more direct parallels with the students instead of this is what ive done , this is where ive been . The jokes fell a little flat , again aimed at his own work life and the VR plug was a little bit cringe rather than fun . I just dont know with him , on surface level you think hes doing a good thing then when you listen again you start to realise that things arent all they seem .

I will admit, that's how all these sorts of speeches sound to me 😂 it's always someone talking up how great they are and not very relatable. We don't do high school graduation like this but I've been to a lot of uni graduations, including my own and all three of my husband's ones (yes I'm very proud), and they're universally boring and detached from our own experiences. Without the context of me being interested as a fan of his Jensen's would sit alongside them perfectly.

I guess to the kids, he's just a regular dad of some fellow students who happens to be an actor. But being a dad could well be what they know him as first. If they don't watch his shows - Supernatural began years after they were born and technically they're too young for The Boys - they don't have a connection.

Even after dean and sam dumped him for their own forever. The poor guy was actually vouching for them to micheal and asked him to help his brothers, when he doesn't even acknowledge him as such. Unlike cas, who causes nothing but issues.

And we need to remember that Dean tried to get both of them back when he killed himself to bargain with Death. Death made him choose and of course he chose Sam. But his plan was to get Adam out too.

Adam deserved better than he got, but we know that was mainly because of behind the scenes stuff. I do wish we'd got to see more of him, maybe all three of them could have resolved more daddy issues if they had time to get to know each other.

Why is Jensen like this??? Aaaahrghg! Seriously, he talks more fondly and more often about Jared than he does about his wife! I can see why J2 tinhatters exist.

I'm just glad he has someone who fills that role of being a support system and not a leech because unfortunately his wife has those two qualities reversed. Maybe Jensen's making an effort to look at positive things and not negative, and Jared is definitely a positive thing in his life.

I hate to say it but what does it say about Jensen that he would choose someone like Daneel in the first place , if as it seems she has always been an awful person , for him to actually pick her for a partner speaks more about him than her .

I don't think he chose her through true love, that's for sure. But he was brought up by a woman who told him to grit his teeth and do things he felt uncomfortable with or didn't want to do because looking right on camera was the only important thing so do as you're told. It's such a crime that BÖC songs weren't in the streaming version, and this is second only to losing Don't Fear that the Reaper, for obvious reasons. Fire of Unknown Origin was the best worst song for Dean to be loudly singing at Sam. Such a good set up for the childish behaviour of this episode.

Unfortunately, that album is full of bangers so it's not even like he can fast forward the tape through the title track to skip it because he might miss part of track 2, Burnin' for You.

I'm also married to a steering wheel drummer so this is adorable to me too. Such a familiar sight. No spoons in my mouth though.

What’s crazy is that they’re acting like Dean was offering up Sam as a sacrifice just to bring Cas back. That’s not what happened.
