A little rough animation test for the new Gameoverse.. No spoilers, audio is old!

Ross, are you ever going to do another episode of Gameoverse? (Please Please Pleeeease?)

I get asked this a lot! Recently at the Animation panel during Magfest I came out and said that I’m considering doing a reboot. Myself and Egoraptor did talk about it a few times last year, as obviously it’s a show I cannot do without Arin. It’s definitely a very real possibility. Gameoverse 5 was about halfway done when I cancelled it. One of the biggest problems for me with animating it was that it’s simplistic style made it intensely boring to animate. It was majority swapping symbols and it bored the crap out of me.. I’d absolutely up the look of the show but keep it cute and charming. The 5th episode had some great lines in it and such, I just felt that the show was an after thought and not much direction was in place for the overall story. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE the characters. They’re easily some of my favorites that I’ve created and I can’t wait to revisit them. I have a strong idea as to who the characters are and where their comfort zones is, as well as what their relationships are to one another. I feel that if I wrote something for it in the future it’d be infinitely better then what it was. That goes the same for animation! Here is a scrapped battle scene from episode 5, which probably makes no sense in context. I look at this 2 year old piece of animation now and I think it’s god awful. But I guess that’s a part of growing as an artist.

The music for that clip was done by Ken Ashcorp, who I’m sure I’ll want to do stuff with again in the future. There’s a lot of stuff in this episode that’d probably make it into the new series.

Keep in mind, rebooting this show is something that I won’t consider till my channel is at a point I feel it can support something like this. I want to make sure my audience is about 3 times larger by the time I start this show again, which I’m aiming to attempt by the end of this year. Fingers crossed :)..
