My favorite headcanon is that the masks all Psychos wear are symbolic.

Tannis mentions that most of the bandits we encounter used to be Dahl employees, family men, good people. But stranded on Pandora, they were left with no other choice but to kill, rob the now dead people and repeat.

The masks they wear were supposed to hide their faces once they went insane: to show that they are no longer truly human and that they have come to terms with their descent into insanity. Also, notice how Tiny Tina always has a Psycho mask on her head, but doesn’t cover her face with it. Is it possible she’s aware of her mental instability and is preparing for the moment when she finally snaps?
