Rebranded!

I know this used to be a completely different au blog, but I decided to get rid of it since my friend who I was sharing it with got rid of the diamond version of their Nora. So instead this’ll be the place where I’ll post random Steven Universe related AU ideas I come up with that relate to my SU ocs like Sophie (from @theforgottendiamondau). This’ll mostly be random posts of my ramblings for AUs or art, like fusions or fanart for other AUs. So if you want to send in asks about what Sophie or any of my other SU ocs (you can even ask about them) would be like in other AUs you can! I may not know every AU out there, but I’ll do my best to answer questions related to them. (Also if ocs from my other blog @artsartblog are free game too, as in what they’d be like if their was an SU AU/gem au with them in it and whatnot. Just make sure it’s SU related) 

This is just for fun and for when I’m not focusing on my main su au, The Forgotten Diamond AU, that way I don’t stress out on that au or if I’m bored and want to just do something else that’s su related. So enjoy and ask anything you’d like. I’ll be posting old su au art that I made for some random aus that never really went anywhere (mostly because I wasn’t super focused on the show and other things caught my interest). It's been a bit since I've posted anything (I've been consumed by creepypasta, specifically an au I'm apart of) so I present you this quick sketch of Sophie and "best" possible future Steven by @cosmicceto

My little story for the sketch is just Sophie sneaking Steven out to just hangout without Garnet or really any other gems around so Steven can just exist. They're dancing and just having fun doing whatever they want.

What if Amy and Amethyst were the same person?

It could work as an au. Amy could pretend to be an overcooked amethyst that took a long to emerge. Though it would mess with the whole Famethsyt thing, but I'm sure that Amy could come up with an explanation for the Famethyst to go along with her story.

Though if I had Amy be Amethyst - in the sense that Amy is pretending to be canon Amethyst - then she would be less forgotten and more just hidden away on Homeworld until Pink's rebellion. Purple would be there to see Pink emerge, the newest and tiniest diamond. She would be the one to suggest the idea of giving her Spinel, seeing how Pink needed a companion but not fully seeing that Pink wanted to be treated like a diamond too, and just hearing whispers and gossip from her pearl.

Purple and Pink would meet within the tower, it would be there first meeting and would be what create a bond between them that none of the other diamonds truly have with either of them. Purple would be the one to convince White - and Yellow and Blue by proxy - to give Pink a colony of her own. Purple would help Pink the best she could from the shadows - never being able to really leave the confinements that White had put her in (either being stuck in the tower or having a gem controlled by White watching her every move because she attempted to run away from homeworld before Blue and Yellow had emerged).

When Pink brought up the beauty of Earth and how she wanted to save it instead of destroy it, Purple was the only one to understand what Pink meant. Pink was still given her zoo and garden to preserve the life living on earth, but Purple knew that wasn't what Pink wanted. So, she did what she did best when it came to Pink, she helped the smallest diamond from the shadows - helping Pink become the rebel leader Rose Quartz by feeding her information that she would need to ensure a successful rebellion.

It wouldn't be until Pink's "shattering" that Purple would finally escape from Homeworld herself. She would go to Earth to hide for the right time to join the rebellion, but the diamonds would cause her to have to wait longer as they sent a corruption blast to wipe out the rest of the rebellion. When the dust had settled Purple would "emerge" as Amethyst, an overcooked and late emerger, and brought back to Beach City as the newest addition to the Crystal Gems. Pink and Purple would know the truth, but both would keep up the guise of Rose Quartz and Amethyst to the others.

Amy's personality would be a mix of canon Amethyst and the personality I have for Amy (which is a mix of Rose and Amethyst if I'm being honestly lol). I'd also probably have it where Tom lives in Beach City instead of Empire City just to possibly have Sophie and Steven exist at the same time.

Also Aubie would end up under White's control just as the rebellion started to ensure that Purple wouldn't try running away during all the chaos (which proved to not work since Purple was able to run away without White knowing - though White believes that Purple is just hiding among Pink's things after Pink's "shattering")

What if Sophie and Coral swapped places?

As in Coral was Purple Diamond’s daughter and Sophie was an experimental gem?

Well Coral wouldn’t be Purple/Amy’s daughter, instead she would be the daughter of a red gem (more specifically [REDACTED], who we’ll call Ruby for the time being so I’m not constantly calling her “Coral’s mom” the whole post). Ruby would be a character of her own, but Purple Diamond would still exist. So Coral would be Tom’s daughter making her a Baker instead of a Knightshade. While Sophie would be a baby made with the help of Amy (Purple) because she wants to create something impossible (a gem human hybrid).

Sophie’s gem would be made by Amy & Peridot while Aubie, Cuprite and Ruby would retrieve the human DNA needed (which would be Mr. Knightshade’s DNA - someone who fumbled a literal goddess) for the experiment. It took some time for it to work, but eventually Sophie was born. She had a gem separate from Amy’s gem - a violet diamond (which Amy chose specifically so that Sophie would still be a diamond, but her own diamond and yes it is very obvious Sophie’s gem is a diamond)

Both of their lives would be different from their canon lives. Mostly because Coral would be Sophie’s canon age and Sophie would be Coral’s canon age (aka Coral is a teen while Sophie is an adult). Coral wouldn’t know much about gems other than what CC tells her (CC being Crimson Pearl) which isn’t much and wouldn’t move to Beach City until after high school (basically getting there around SU: Future). Sophie & the Experimental Gems wouldn’t be too far from Beach City (or at least would be in warping distance) since Amy would help the gems relocate there because of the Crystal Gems being in Beach City (Amy & Rose would both know each other’s diamond secret - not that Amy really hides it, but it’s just easier to pretend to be an amethyst). Sophie would be Sophia Knightshade, but doesn’t really care too much about that side of her family (she’d be told that her father wasn’t really all that cool and she would just drop the subject & focus more on learning more about humans). She also doesn’t care if she’s called Sophia or Sophie - she’ll respond to either one (on occasions she’ll even answer to Violet if she’s called that).

Sophie and Coral would not be related if they swapped places and would probably get along better than in tfdau (not to say they don’t get along, but canon Coral is a lot more mischievous and does whatever she wants - morally grey so to speak - which causes them to clash and not get along well) and Purple would still be alive. Tom would also be a single father (just because I thought the idea of Tom still falling for Amy after being with Ruby would be funny) and finally decided to return home (aka Beach City) to be closer to his parents and Coral could learn more about her gem side.

And I’m going to stop there before I end up turning this into AU of it’s own (that will just exist is concept). I’m being a bit secretive about Coral’s gem because I want a little mystery for it (also Crimson Pearl was purely made for this thought experiment, but I might add her to being apart of the Experimental Gems just for fun)

Answering this over here because I feel like it’s more fitting here than the main blog.

So, in order for Strawberry to be an experimental gem he would have to have been separated from both of his parents at birth. At least going off Coral’s lore. Which is why I’m answering it here.

Coral’s lore isn’t something I’ve talked much about nor explained. That was of course to keep it a surprise for her big reveal and whatnot, but I’m going to just explain it.

Coral had been born into the Knightshade family, but was never truly accepted into the family due to her mother (Tom’s sister) not coming from an affluential (Tom’s family isn’t poor, but compared to the Knightshade family they might as well be - meaning it’s a rich family) family or having any real “status” (aka didn’t have any connections to the rich entitled world the Knightshade family comes from). It also didn’t help that Coral’s mother cut all ties with her family when dating Coral’s father - as a way to show she would do anything to be apart of the Knightshade life. Coral’s parents were never married. In fact, her father was actually engaged shortly after the conception of Coral. This resulted in Coral’s mother being completely cut off from her “support system” (aka relying on Coral’s father for everything) and having nowhere to go. Coral’s mother was unable to return to her family - having no way to contact them - and had to figure out how to take care of an infant with absolutely no money.

This led to her mother taking odd jobs or even stealing stuff just to provide for baby Coral. It wasn’t until Coral was three that the law caught up with Coral’s mother (more like Coral’s mother got caught). Coral had been “home” (in an abandoned house that none has been living in for years) when her mother was caught so she had no clue about it. It took two days before Coral actually left to find her mother (used to her mother being gone for at least a day), but she would never find her mother. Instead Coral would run into Danburite. Knowing that a small human like this usually had a taller human with it the gem would question young Coral and learn that the child was parentless (or at least Coral’s mother was missing). Danburite decided to bring Coral back home with her (home being the ship that the gems crash landed on earth in and converted into a bigger space from things they’ve found over the years), in which the gems decided to keep Coral.

It took some time figuring out how to care for a human - none of them really knew, but at least Peridot had some idea - but they were successful in caring for Coral. Especially after Peridot started experimenting with combining human DNA with gem essence. By the time Coral turned eight the experiment that Peridot initially ran on Coral started to show the effects - a gem had grown on her lower back - which led to some interesting discoveries. The artificial gem - which had been created from what Peridot knew of how gems were made and Coral’s human DNA mixed together into a liquid that would be injected into Coral - had rewritten some of Coral’s DNA in order for it to not kill her (because it had to get nutrients somehow). It also cut down her need for eating compared to a normal human and basically turned her into an artificial gem human hybrid.

Coral’s gem is unknown to her (it’s red and that’s all I’m saying about it for now) and the other gems. That isn’t the only experiment that’s been performed of Coral, but the others are more to test her new hybrid status and figure out what all she can do (while also making sure she stays stable). Coral also does find out about her mother when she fifteen then about her father at sixteen (from a very illegal paternity test she has Peridot help her do - having help from Ruby and Cuprite to get the DNA sample from her father). Coral only uses the Knightshade name whenever she’s causing trouble for the Nightshade family (as revenge for her mother - who sadly is no longer alive).

So, either Strawberry would’ve had to have been born full human and found by the Experimental Gems or maybe Rose and Greg found the Experimental Gems and had them help create a child for them by using Rose’s diamond essence and Greg’s human DNA.

Either way it would’ve been a way different story for Strawberry than his current story.

(It’s nearly 3am when I’m posting this so some of this may not make any sense)

Decided to redraw an old art piece (that isn’t canon to the story - I just was a huge Jasper simp, still am, and wanted to draw Sophie & Jasper together)

What if Lauran Wiston and Johnny existed in the “What if Purple Diamond existed in The Earthly Diamonds AU”? Maybe Johnny can be the son of Green Diamond?(which is what I’m theorising now give that his bloodstone gem is mostly green and with some red)

Uhhhhhhhhhh idk really. (I had a lot more said as a response, but tumblr is being weird and deleted what I typed so I’m not retyping it and leaving what hasn’t been deleted by tumblr - basically just said they could exist since nothing is really stopping their existence other than me knowing the lore of Lauran & Johnny since they aren’t my ocs)

This is all under the guise of me actually going forth with making a mini AU of an AU idea I had years ago, which I’m not. (At this point I’m barely making content for my own AU, but I’m attributing that to lack of motivation for now)

I do love crossovers and having Sophie interacting with other ocs, but you do have to keep in mind that I’m still just one person and I don’t personally know the creators of these AUs/ocs. (Plus this is a side blog that is not connected to my main tumblr account so I’m not on this one as often)

If WD!Steven’s new name is Wyatt, what would your names for your BD!Steven and YD!Steven?

Uhhhhh I’ve never really thought about it. Wyatt only has his name because I just felt like he wouldn’t be called Steven. Mostly because I think that’s a name that Pink/Rose would choose while the other diamonds would have different names (of course that also depends on the AU)

If I had to come up with ones on the spot then…

BD!Steven = Oliver or Serenity (for Nora)

Oliver (Ollie for short) because it’s the first boy name that popped into my head - Serenity actually popped into my head first so I decided that would be the Nora equivalent for Ollie.

YD!Steven = Arthur or Athena (for Nora)

Arthur because I connect Yellow with warriors/knights and I just thought of King Arthur and the knights of the round table. Athena (as the Nora equivalent) felt fitting too because she’s a goddess of wisdom and battle strategy so yeah.

Idk if I’ll make designs for these versions of Steven, but these are (as of right now) what the names of those versions would be called.

What if the earthly diamonds au existed in the same universe as the forgotten diamond au universe?

With how the Earthly Diamonds AU works it wouldn’t be possible for it to exist in the Forgotten Diamond AU because tfdau follows more of the canon story while tedau switches the narrative where it’s just Pink set on conquering other planets to expand the gem empire (with little to no regards to how it’ll affect those planets).

I mean I could come up with a mix of the AUs - where Purple Diamond had gone missing before the discovery of Earth and as a way to mourn the loss of a diamond Blue and Yellow created Pink (mostly for White’s benefit) based off what they knew of the diamond they hadn’t met, but Pink came out wrong. Pink was nothing like Purple was. Pink tried convincing White that they should expand their empire by taking resources from other planets - something White didn’t agree with. Pink argued and argued that it would be good for homeworld, but no one agreed. So Pink took matters into her own hands and started with planet that had the perfect resources for making new gems - Earth. However, her pearl betrayed her - telling White’s pearl as soon as she could (resulting in losing sight in one eye as punishment from Pink) - and the other diamonds came to earth’s rescue. They fought Pink and those who followed her (either out of agreement or out of fear) until ultimately Pink was poofed and bubbled. Those who actually agreed with Pink fled so they could regroup and make a plan of freeing their diamond, while those who had been fighting out of fear of what Pink would do to them were rejuvenated so that they wouldn’t have those memories of fighting their fellow gems anymore (rejuvenation being more of a common thing than shattering as the diamonds lead a more peaceful empire).

As time passed and peace was once again restored, White spent a lot of her time on Earth. Not just as a protector, but as an enjoyer of the life that roamed the earth. Eventually falling in love with a creature - a human - named Greg Universe. Soon that love turned into the impossible, a human gem hybrid named Wyatt Diamond Universe (WD!Steven gets a new name). Wyatt would be the new protector (in training) of earth, but that job really fell to the Crystal Gems (his protectors) as they were chosen specifically by the diamonds to help White in keeping earth safe should any problems arise - and a problem would arise. Pink’s gem would disappear from Homeworld, causing rumors to spread, as a new girl moves to Beach City with her family. With the threat of Pink’s return Wyatt has to train even harder to become the protector that Earth needs, but a certain new girl has him distracted by questions of a past that the gems had long forgotten because of Pink. Maybe this new girl could be just what Wyatt and CGs need to change Pink’s mind.

Oop got a little carried away with that idea lol. (The new girl is Sophie if that wasn’t obvious)

So yeah. They couldn’t exist in the same universe for how their stories are, but they certainly can have a merged AU (or as my brain called it “a love child” AU). It would more be a “if Purple Diamond existed in the Earthly Diamonds AU” idea than the Earthly Diamonds AU existing in the Forgotten Diamond AU.

Can you draw Sophie crossing over with @fanart-for-life-bun’s @dragonstevenau and a fusion to go along with it please?

It may be around 1:30am when I’m answering this ask, but I was struck by the art gods with an idea that I just had to get done. Sure, I could’ve waited till later to answer this, but I’m not. (Also didn’t draw a fusion between them because I didn’t want to - instead did lineart and colored it)

I may have struggled a bit with drawing the dragon boy because I’ve drawn like a dragon one other time (and that was on paper) but he came out wonderfully (I’m really proud of this piece)

What if Tom and Janeece adopted Johnny after she would be told by him how he had to take care of himself and had to live off the land after his birth dad abandoned him?

Idk what is with you and wanting my ocs to adopt other people’s ocs lol

Firstly, I doubt that Johnny needs adopting since he’s being taken care of in his universe. Secondly, Sophie wouldn’t go straight to her parents and be like “you need to adopt him” (because I’m guessing that’s the “she” you’re referring to since there’s no clarification on who “she” is). Thirdly, from what I’ve gathered from that au it is set in SUF which would mean Sophie is roughly 18 years old and Tom & Janeece have their hands full with a toddler so adopting someone wouldn’t be on (any of) their mind(s).

If, and only if, Sophie were to meet Johnny when he was younger and he hadn’t become apart of the Universe family then she might have convinced her parents to adopt Johnny since they are of the opinion that children need stable homes and place where they feel loved and wanted. That would lead to a whole other au that won’t exist because Johnny isn’t my oc.

That’s how my main au started until it I just pivoted away from it. I loved answering questions as the characters for my au, but it was also a bit of a struggle when some people would ask questions that the characters wouldn’t know anything about or would be (at the time) a spoiler. I miss doing that, but I don’t think I could handle doing that again (especially with how I haven’t really even started my au and really should lol)

Can you draw a fusion between Sophie and twiniverse styled Nathan please?

Not only did I draw Sophie and twin!Nathan fused I gave a rough design for Sophie and Aubie (since it’s the same fusion, but different)

Idk what Sophie + Nathan’s fusion name is so they’re just called Morado Opal as well unless I decide otherwise (aka I don’t feel like trying to figure it out right now).

Sophie + Aubie’s fusion design isn’t fully canon because it’s just a redraw/redesign to give me a starting place for their canon design (though idk if they’ll actually fuse in canon - the only fusion I really want to happen with Sophie is one I won’t say in case I can’t fit it into the story) so you got them as a special treat.

Now that you’ve drawn the fusion of Sophie and Nora from @ask-nora-blue-niverse, can you draw Sophie and Nora interacting together please?

And also, side question: did you name their fusion after Sora from Kingdom Hearts?

I only drew the fusion to clear that ask out of my inbox since it had been sitting in there for 2 months. So I won’t be drawing them interacting since that au is on hiatus (last I checked) and I said I’d focus in aus that are still active (mostly so I’m not dragging someone back into a fandom they’ve moved on from)

As for the fusion being called Sora - as much as I love KH and Sora (though I’ve always been a Saix/Isa + Axel/Lea fan) that’s not why the fusion is called that. It’s what I call all Nora + Sophie fusions simply because it sounds better than Norphie (in my opinion anyways). The fusion is not and hasn’t ever been named after Sora from KH (though I did think about that after deciding to call the Sophie + Nora fusions Sora).

When do you feel like bringing back your Earthly Diamonds au! I feel like it sounded like a good idea and has a lot of potential. :)

Uhhhhhh idk really. I do love the idea, but I just haven’t really picked it up since….2023 (it’s literally been 2 years since I originally posted that wow) so idk.

It was just a silly idea that I came up with when I was going through a phase of making AUs (since I just liked coming up with new stories)

I might in the future redraw/redesign the characters since I think I could make better new art for some of the characters (specifically Pink Diamond), but I make no guarantees. As fun as the idea was, I really didn’t think far on the story. It was kind of my take of a diamond swap AU while being completely different from most diamond swaps.

Anyways, idk if I’ll bring it back. I mean you’re free to ask questions about it (or any of the other aus I’ve posted on here) since I wouldn’t be opposed to answering questions about it. I might not have much since it was really just in the idea phase, but that doesn’t mean I can’t come up with things.
