John grew up playing sports and hunting with his dad and uncles. From an early age, he knew he had a responsibility to be as masculine as possible. Yet all around him, men were acting more and more feminine. John was disgusted seeing guys in skinny jeans and cardigans. John always wore what Pops wore: durable, sturdy denim overalls. All the way through high school, he wore his bibs everyday. It was his way of keeping traditional masculine values alive.
After school, John started working at his uncle's construction company. Even here, overalls weren't common as men wore jeans and work pants. Yet still, John strapped on his bibs everyday. It was around this time John learned of the Overalls for All Movement. He saw a representative on the local news: a rugged young man in denim bib overalls speaking about the importance of tradition and the power of overalls as a uniform of masculinity. John was intrigued and attended a local chapter meeting. There he met dozens of men like him, who wore overalls daily and respected the way men were supposed to be.
John began his activism by demanding his uncle require overalls for all workers on the site. It a bit of convincing, but soon enough every worker showed up in uniform overalls. John felt so proud when he would overhear fellow workers say things like "I feel so strong in these overalls" and "I could get used to these bibs." or "My dad used to wear these. He would be proud to see me in overalls too!"
John knew then that the Overalls for All Movement was about to take off. He thought of his future sons and a world where they would grow in overalls, free from the influences of feminine men. John knew he had a part to play in creating that world, and all it took was wearing overalls proudly. John put his heart on his bib and shouted "Overalls for All!"
