Finally, the last hour of the day. Understaffed didn’t begin to describe his situation, nor did it help the standard in which he preferred to keep his bakery (perhaps stricter than necessary), and without the full hands to help Sebastian took the extra work on himself. The extra ovens helped only so much, though running back and forth between them and the wave of customers made the entirety of the day a nuisance, the first of its kind in the span of a fortunate business. When the last customer left Sebastian was right behind them, the key in the door when he heard another passerby’s footfalls behind him. “Es tut mir leid. Wir sind geschlossen, ich werde wahrscheinlich vor morgen den Ort verbrennen, und…” He turned to see the person, and sighed, removing the key before the door was officially locked and sealed. “I’m closing the bakery early but if you need anything, I’ll open it again for you.”
“We’ll that’s a shame,” slightly disappointed, Marlene a sigh escape from her “I’d been looking forward to your scones all day.” She beamed, “so has Penelope,” she said as she petted the broad neck of the white beast that stood 16 hands tall beside her. The stallion let out an excited snort. “Shh,” she pet the beast, “no worries sir, we’ll just come back tomorrow then.”
