West stopped again to look at his brother. Tired wasn’t good in Marley’s world. “I’ll make you a deal,yeah?” He started hoping his little brother would agree to it. “I’ll take you to the infirmary and I’ll go get whatever you want to eat plus convince the nurse to let us watch a movie.” He knew it wasn’t the same thing but it was better than nothing.

Marley thought about it for a good minute before deciding it was the safest option. “D-deal. As long as m-mummy doesn’t find out.”

As West heard his brother ask him to slow down he stopped for a second to look at him. “You sure you’re okay?” He questioned Marley. “You don’t look all that well to me.” He said walking a bit slower now so his brother could keep up.

“I-I’m a-ace.” Marley replied as his brother looked at him. “J-just a b-bit t-tired.” He admitted as West started walking again. His chest hurt and he knew he should listen but he was stubborn.

Westley chuckled at his little brother. “If you feel that good I’ll do both.” He looked around the hall as they walked cautiously watching for anyone who could overhear their conversation. “Just promise me you’ll do your treatments and I’ll do mine.” He said the last bit low enough so only Marley could hear.

“I-I do,feel that good that is.” Marley said as if he was still trying to convince himself of that. “I always do.” He knew his brother wasn’t going to let him forget to take care of himself especially since their mother was so far away from them. “C-can you um,sl-slow down a b-bit Westie?”

West chewed on his lip slightly he knew he was guilty of being overprotective of Marley. “Sorry Marley Barley. It’s an older brother thing.” He knew that he was upsetting him so he was willing to change the subject. “I know. Let’s talk about something else,yeah?” He said starting to walk toward the door so they could go eat.

Marley nodded following his brother slowly. “Sure. Like if I eat all my food you owe me a tenner.” He joked though West usually did pay him a reward for finishing his food. When Marley felt right he was very much a foodie. “Or a movie night?”

West smiled at his brother before standing up. “Sure,come on then.” He stated waiting for Marley to join him. “She does have a right to do so,Marley Barley.” He gently reminded him of this. “We both are sick and play a rough sport. But at least we know she cares.”

Marley sighed lightly causing him to cough a bit. He made sure West didn’t catch it. “Yeah every time I drop something she comes running and so do you.” He hated that he was worried his family so much through not only his CF but epilepsy as well. “I’m okay you know. I’m not gonna break.”

Westley knew it wasn’t true but he also knew his little brother wanted to be as normal as possible. “You tell me if you start feeling off,yeah?” He said a brow slightly raised. “Mum would kill me if you end up in hospital so soon.” He chuckled lightly at the thought of their mother.

Marley again chewed on his bottom lip and just nodded for a minute. “Let’s just go please.” The longer they waited the less likely he would be able to fake it. “And mummy likes to overreact sometimes.”

At this West sighed lightly. Picking up on the fact that he had called him Westie. “I’m sorry for scaring you,Marley.” He replied sitting down on his brothers bed. “I figured we go out to eat unless you aren’t feeling well?”

Marley chewed on his lip looking at his brother. He knew it’d come back to bite him in the ass but he was going to pretend he was fine. “I’m ace,West.” He gave his brother a small smile trying to keep up his act.

West felt bad when he found out his little brother hadn’t been able to get a hold of him. He knew that being in a new place was scary for Marley. So he was going to make it up to his brother. “Marley Barley?” He called out as he entered his little brothers dorm. Planning on trying to find a decent place to eat in the valley.

Marley was still a little upset that his brother hadn’t answered him when he had been looking for him. But he knew West well enough to know he’d make it up to him with the thing they both loved food. “ Westie?” He questioned hearing his brother call as he came out of the bathroom. He hoped he couldn’t see that he wasn’t feeling all that well. “Where were you? I-I couldn’t get a hold of you and I couldn’t find you when I went looking.” He questioned coming to sit on his bed.

Marley licked his lips slightly of course she knew her brother was talented. “West doesn’t really do anything half- arsed.” He shrugged and pulled on his shirt sleeve.

“Oh. Okay.” Marley started and nodded slightly. “Talan’s a really good player.”

Of course Marley had tried to ring his brother several times with no answer. “Of course I have. Not answering which isn’t like him.” He sighed lightly. “Habit. I figure everyone knows West.” It was very much a habit the teen had of assuming everyone knew who his brother was. “I c-can g-go.”

At this Marley chewed on his bottom lip. She clearly didn’t want to be bothered. “Well..uh..no.” He furrowed his brows and swallowed hard. “I was wondering if you happen to know where I could possibly find my brother? I know it’s stupid to ask you but I really need to find him.”

“Hasn’t anyone ever taught you that when someone has their headphones in, it’s basically the universal signal they want you to sod the fuck off?” Tessa’s eyes narrowed at the individual who had come over to her and was now standing much to close to her person.

Marley had been looking for his brother everywhere to see if they could go get ice cream. He figured he’d ask the first person he had seen in ages if she might happen to know where West could be. “Sorry.” He quickly apologised when she spoke. “Forget it then.” He didn’t want to make the girl even more angry at him.
