Marley began to finish up the sweeping before she looked to the professor once more, “Is there anything else you need?”

Sav’s cheeks were hurting, she was smiling to much. “I don’t know about that, I mean I’ve never played any other position. But it is so much fun,” she sighed wistfully. “I’m hoping to go pro, actually. I want to play Seeker for the All-Stars. Or the Finches. Part of me also hopes to get captain next year, but that’s probably just wishful thinking. I mean, this is only my first year actually on the team.”

Marley let out a chuckle -- the girl’s joy was contagious. “The most important thing about this is your love and passion for the game. I’m sure that if you’re meant to become captain, it’ll happen. As for going pro -- if you’ve got the drive, there’s no doubt you’ll achieve it. I know they look for skill but also heart. And you’ve definitely got a lot of heart.”

“Thank you.” Victor said curtly before turning back to his papers. The silence ruled the greenhouse for a couple minutes before Victor spoke again. “Is everything alright?” He wasn’t much for feelings, but he didn’t know the aid to be distracted during classes.

Marley was a little surprised to hear the professor speak up again all of a sudden, but she didn’t jump. “Of course,” she replied in a small voice. It was best not to bring personal matters into the workplace. The last thing she wanted to do was look unprofessional in front of her past teachers and current co-workers. “Why wouldn’t everything be alright?”
