If I ask for togachako requests to draw, will people actually give me some, preferably if the ideas are more unusual and niche?

Every time I see the official art of middle school Himiko beside art of how she looked in everyday canon, followed by art of how she looked in the final war arc, I get physically ill

I missed your requests being open but just stumbled across some of your art here (that ochahimi wedding picture is GORGEOUS) and I needed to tell you how much I love it!!! I had one question: if you reopen requests what would be some examples when you say "unusual" or "niche"?

To answer your question, I’d like to clarify that this isn’t a “knock” on anyone, I prefer drawing things that aren’t “normal.” Which I know is super vague :’D so I’ll try my best to explain. Sorry for the long post.

Things I classify as “normal” are very basic requests you see everywhere. “Can you draw them hugging/kissing” is not very niche. “Can you draw Toga as a nurse?” “Can you draw them in a quirkless AU/as kids?” “Can you draw domestic AU tgchk?” “Can you draw (sfw) omegaverse” (this one can be considered niche, but “omegaverse” is too vague on its own and most people wouldn’t like my ideas for it)

Again this isn’t a knock on anyone!!! It simply does not inspire me to draw!!! There are plenty of wonderful artists who have done art like this, done it extraordinarily well, I just don’t feel driven to add onto that.

Drawing them as animals is a step up from “normal.” Especially because it gives me a chance to lean into monster girl territory and/or learn about an animal I don’t know.

My favorite things to draw are really outlandish. Drawing them as monster girls in general, such as werewolves, vampires, dragons, etc is still not super niche, but we’re getting there, especially if the request has some neat “twist” to it. Like angel/demon AU, but Ochako is the demon—not in the “subversive for the sake of subversion” way but because someone has an unhinged tangent and passion about demon!Ochako. Or a siren octopus!Himiko and orange-lined cardinal fish mermaid!Ochako trying to fight each other for a piece of the sea in a heated, bitter rivalry that ends up drawing them closer.

It’s hard to explain, so here are some examples from my folders:

The more hyper-specific an idea is, the better! Anyone can say, "draw them as mermaids" but I need more meat than that. Knowing what type of fish they are or what their dynamic is with one another is extremely helpful! So long as it doesn’t have character death ofc

2018-2020 seemed like the peak time to be a Toga Himiko enjoyer and it's so sad because everything feels the same now, like my way of liking and drawing/writing her [and Ochako] are Wrong and Lesser, like I'm missing some valuable information not having been around for that time. Yes, we have more information on her now, and we know she's more than a yandere stereotype, and she's more humanized by the fandom, but sometimes I wish I was part of that era where she was so much more... mysterious. A bit off. Bloodthirsty.

And the same goes for Ochako! I wish I understood more of her character without it having been so seeped in Himiko. I wish I didn't see so much information about how This, This, This, and This XYZ thing influenced Anything with Himiko, instead of being a series of events that changed OCHAKO'S character. I want to know more about her soft parts, her innate/core desires, I want her to be her own person not influenced by Her Parents, or Deku, or Bakugou, or Himiko, or Iida, or Tsuyu. It's amazing, isn't it? How her character can be pulled so apart by everyone around her, and yet, people want to make her so involved with Himiko.

What is your headcanon body types for togachako?

It's difficult for me to answer that! A lot of my tgchk ideas are situational; I don't have one particular set of body types in mind while shipping them.

Himiko, for me, changes a lot, and her shape will vary the most from AU to AU. From being slightly chubbier from canon to being somewhat androgynous. Lithe to outright fat. Short or tall.

Ochako stays mostly the same, with some minimal changes to her weight, height, and musculature. I personally like the idea that she's on the chunkier end.

But I can be sold on anything, if there's a reason for it. Canon makes me believe Ochako gains some muscle the older she gets. And while I'm not the biggest fan of post-canon Ochako's design, I do like that she looks physically strong.

It's interesting to me that people call Ochako the puppy in the relationship between her and Himiko. Contrary to popular belief, Ochako was not initially seen as "puppy-coded" (for tgchk specifically, I have zero knowledge on other ships) until the tgchk ship gained popularity on X in 2023. Hori even draws her as a cat! And her beans are canonically squishy.

It's fascinating how the ship changes and grows with time, as its popularity waxes and wanes as more people come and go.
