SUBLIME CINEMA #240 - WHAT DREAMS MAY COME

I wanted to put a Robin Williams movie onto my list, and this one has always been overlooked. It’s a visually innovative film, with a painterly quality and a dramatic Williams performance, which at this point was still kind of new for him.

Stilo is a medieval village nestled in the hills of Calabria, near the Ionian coast.

Cattolica is a beautifully restored Byzantine church with portions of frescoes still clearly visible, built in the 9th century when Calabria was still part of the Byzantine Empire.
