I was rewatching botc stream again and i can't get this one bit off my head:

If I had a nickel for every time a green eyed character used a sound recorder to document being taken over by The Horrors he had been trying to rationalize before, on his request, getting stabbed by a person he trusts in the finale to save others, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot but its weird that it happened twice.
This post is about v!Legundo and Jonathan Sims, still they are so wildy different and I think they'd have a blast analyzing each other.

Y’all can we talk about how kind Abolish Veylocke is?
Like, when discussion of v!Abolish comes up, a lot of words get tossed around: badass, scary, professional, etc., but one I have rarely seen be brought up—even though he really deserves it—is kind.
Because he is. He offers redemption and mercy at every turn, whether it be to the Doctor, to Owen, to anybody. To the end, violence remains his last resort, and the one time he used it prematurely—killing Shelby in Ep 7—he regretted doing it.
From the start, he knew that vampires were every bit as human as the mortals. And he treated them as such.
The moment Owen shared his story, Abolish empathized and offered a path forward. Owen had killed thousands, but Abolish still offered him a place in the Organization. And when Owen chose to embrace eternal sleep, he didn’t judge him for it. He simply made a grave for Owen.
The instant a peaceful resolution to the conflict manifested, he advocated for it. He knew the consequences, and offered himself as the first to turn. Proof that it was safe.
His final words to Legundo, “You were a good doctor, in the end.” Offering comfort, reassurance that the Doctor’s mission wasn’t in vain.
Even Scott, the millennium-old vampire arguably at the root of so much of Oakhurst’s pain. Scott showed he wanted to change, and so Abolish agreed to be his safeguard. Even centuries later, he’s still watching over Scott. Keeping his promise.
Abolish hides it behind emotional walls—mostly through silence and dry humor—but at his core, he has a kind heart. And I feel like not enough people acknowledge that, which is a shame.
FINALE SPOILERS, PROCEED WITH CAUTION
do you ever think about how the doc's last act was to heal abolish and make it possible for him to leave oakhurst. how legundo spent his life patching people up only to send them right back out into the fighting, and now at the very end of his life he gets to send a young soldier back home to their family.
Owen chose death in an attempt to pass his pain to the Doctor. His time was over but his curse was not, and it seemed like the only man who would bear the pain as heavily as he had would be Legundo. But he wasn't. Owen said it himself: he was too much like Louis.
Legundo didn't fly into a rage when Owen died. He didn't run through the streets of Oakhurst and slash carelessly, mercilessly, at anyone who might've had a hand in the death of the man he once loved. That wasn't who the Doctor was. The curse would have fall to someone like Owen, and try as he might, he couldn't change someone like Louis into someone like himself.
The mantle would have to fall to someone more used to solitude, more excluded, more guarded. Someone more like Owen.
Someone like Ren.
With the revelation that Dr Legundo has a blind side, I've honestly just been going back through episodes and looking at who tends to lurk in what would be his blind spot — and, more interestingly, who the doc seems completely comfortable allowing to remain there.
(Abolish is there a lot, which honestly just makes it seem like v!Abolish is doing it entirely on purpose.)
