I took this photograph using the shallow field of view in order to get the eye to focus in on the food and not any of the background noise. However The background noise does keep the photograph interesting as you can still see people talking and doing things, but clearly as shown by the shallow field of view they are not the focus.

This is just an experimental attempt at changing the colour and composition of my journal entry.
Breaking the Rules: The Printed Face of the European Avant Garde 1900-1937
I chose Breaking the Rules because it looked like had some interesting things to say about typography and also just because who doesn't like to break the rules every once in a while?
Picturing Modernism in Japanese Architecture
I chose this book because I really love Japanese culture and can never quite learn enough about it and it's history. It looked like it had some really cool photographs inside as well.
The Soul of Anime
This one I was immediately drawn to as it had Unit 1 from Neon Genesis Evangelion. I really like Japanese animation and hand drawn animation in general and would love to learn more about it.
