Hi Darth, I wanted to ask, why does it seem like all—or most—visual novel creators hate TikTok? Even you and the mods of tfc hate it, it's because of all the misinformation or something else?
It is rampant with misinformation, lies, and rumor. All social media has this inherently of course, anyone who says otherwise is silly or very ignorant, but for some reason this seems to be a bigger issue on likely because:
The general userbase runs very young. Unfortunately tiktok has earned a reputation of being the social media platform that a lot of teens use and it didn't take long for me to find so many minors trying to very blatantly and unashamedly interact with my content when I tried to use it myself.
Art theft on there is very prevalent and there are not a lot of tools or resources on the platform that seem to help artists, especially in the case of 'edits' or other aesthetic short videos or pseudo-animations.
There seems to be next to no reading comprehension or critical thinking skills among much of the userbase— this may be related to point 2 (with a large proportion of the userbase being teens/minors), but a lot of the issues we've run into have often come from or originated on tiktok.
So much fucking AI. So much disrespect. So much unauthorized merchandise from companies big and small that have been a pain to deal with in general honestly.
