honsetly, if I had someone remind me every day that I'm doing great and that they love me then I think that would solve a lot of problems

social media has really warped our perception of creativity and hobbies. Stop doing things to post them. Just write. Just journal. Just sketch. Just read. Just annotate. Just sing. Just crochet. Just do the thing you’re going to do with the assumption no one will ever see or know you did it. Stop performing. Just enjoy it.
this. literally this.
I've had this rant that i have no one to share it to but it pisses me off so badly that i see a lot of ppl getting into hobbies (which is great for them) purely just for content and views and likes (not so great). Because why are you doing the hobby if its not for the love of it?
I get so scared posting things ive made bc im very scared that ppl will assume I am doing it for conent and views and likes, and that i get labeled as preformitive when I have literally spent years doing the things I do before they blew up as a trendy hobby
Which brings me to my next point: SINCE WHEN DID MY HOBBIES GET SO POPULAR?? Like yeah I'm aware that the arts and crafts community is so big but thanks to social media it really blew things up and i fear that being a creative is now just a "trendy aesthetic", which pisses me the hell off soooo much.
I love my arts and crafts time, and I love sharing the things I make with close friends, but for fear of getting accused of the things I'm scared of, I just dont share them. Sewing and painting and drawing and reading and making jewlery are genuinely some things I have loved to do since I could basically walk. I enjoy my hobbies for the love and fun of it, not because I want the whole world to know that I do it.
i really love this genre of image
