First time poster, long time lurker Ive been on tumblr for around... fuck man like 15 years? Maybe 14? At the very start, Finn was just a doodle I was making as I sat at a artist alley table sdjvnsdf

i saw a lotttt ofocs who; ( AND I SAY THIS WITH LOVE IN MY HEART AND NO ILL WILL TO ANYONE WHOS OCS ARE LIKE THESE its just not what I was looking for)

Have been with the circus since the start

And I had just done a deepdive into Harlequin as a charcter and I noticed a thing, no one has really made a solid oc to counter him I have seen some AMAZING ones for Jester and Ticket taker (Mostly on Tiktok)

But anything involving Harley was MC or paired with greenapple WHICH I ADORE DO NOT GET ME WRONG But i am a harley supporter in the deepest parts of my heart

Harlequin deserves a love that is just his, no rivalry, no games, someone who genuinely likes him and makes him WANT to be better (emotionally)

Harlequin I have noticed is always second to Pierrot, looking at the rivalry in game with Mc and then with Columbina, hell even his BIRTHDAY is AFTER Pierrots and Ill be so honest there WAS much less fan fair for his birthday than Pierrots which broke my heart for him

Finn ofc is his own character outside of his relationship, I made damn sure of that but they work together so nicely

Harley was KIND OF nice ONE TIME and that was genuenly enough for Finn because poor dudes a sucker for mean guys who are nice (more on that way later lol) But harley never had to fight anyone for Finns affection, it came with no strings, no games, just a consistant thing

I ALSO am really into mythology as a whole, and I have been on a kick of learning more and more about Celtic mythos/folktales and well the fae came up and i just thought to myself

"Hey what if all the creatures we hear about in the world are just monsters in game haha wouldnt that be funny!"

and bam, sea monster boy

I did a lot of background info on sea serpents in general and how geographically he would differ from the others, he never had a need to grow his claws long, be big and strong, be athletic, all his shit is in the water and by god his is a damn good swimmer He also has webbing between his fingers and toes, gills, two rows of teeth, a lot more things a creature of the sea would need vs one of land

I genuinely haven't had this much fun in a fandom space OR making an oc since the early days of Voltron and i really hope it stays this way

I feel this is a pretty understandable one, at first some might think the eye but I think him falling with manipulation is faaaar more accurate, looking at the fools in particular and how he easily deals with them. Plus to me hes very "puppet master" coded and has people on strings which is vvv Web like

Ticket Taker- The Eye

Again I think this is easy, mf is always watching through his fuckass mirrors, I don' t think this one needs much explanation lol

Doctor- The Flesh (???)

tbh I had the most trouble pinning him down?? There isnt a fear directly tied to medical shit but I feel the flesh is a good one for him, his bloodlust do be wild and seeing his subjects as just that, subjects, meat for him to test

Harlequin- The Hunt

Listen, this mf is a predator stalking his prey at every moment I dont think this one needs much explanation, i love him dearly but this man would LOVE to work with the hunt, he told me himself

Pierrot- The Loanly

This poor sweet man did not choose this, it choose him, but does anyone CHOOSE the loanly?? Lookin over at Martin like hello??? His obsession stimming from not wanting to be alone

Columbina- The Extinction

Listen, walk with me, less of an end of the world but more of a means to an ends, her life, their lives, their past, the peace they once knew all ended when she died, she indirectly brought upon their personal extinctions of who they all used to be

MC- The End

WALK WITH ME OK- The end isnt JUST the fear of dieing, they are the inevitability of change, the end of how things have been, the counter point to the extinction, think like a catalyst and brings an end to the suffering in their own way, there is no way to avoid the fact MC IS going to change the circus members lives in some way, even if that is just starting with pierrot

Finn looks to Jester as a father figure/mentor

Jester sees him at first as a tool but quickly gets attached

Jester saw Finns ability and KNEW hed be useful

They get along pretty well, Jester even helps him get used to preforming with some one on one practice

Pierrot at first is really confused bc finn dosent eat human meat, nor red meat at all, Pierrot feels AWFUL since he didnt know and for Finns first mean as an official circus member WAS human and poor finn just looked at him awkwardly saying hes “Human-intolerant”

Pierrot comes to Finn about Mc because well, Finn understands human courting more than anyone in the circus

Finn thinks its really cute and wants to help be Pierrots wingman

In return Pierrot helps Finn with Harlequin because its a win win, Harley wont bug Mc anymore and Finn gets to hang with his crush!

He might not UNDERSTAND but respects Finn for that crush, he does try to talk Finn out of it before he gets hurt but mf is stubborn

Pierrot learns how to cook fish or serve raw fish for Finn! It reminds him of being a kid and fishing for himself and Harley again so its kinda bittersweet

Pierrot does get more agressive at Harley in the 7month span between Finn getting a crush and Harley catching the hint bc Harley is STILL being a manwhore and fucking fools in his tent and giving pretty people the green ticket and Pierrot watches Finn watch that happen and poor hopeless romantic man cant handle it

Doctor

Finn is! Kinda scared of him!!

They are friendly, finn often helps with garden stuff and runs errands for Doctor if needed

Doctor has him come by every few days for exams bc what do you mean you dont eat meat?? How are you alive???

He calls Finn, Finlee bc i feel thats just canon

I hc doctor as autistic so hear me out

Doctor makes finn do MANY tests but Finn begs for no more needles

Doctor gets ONE needle poke a month so he needs to make it count

Ticket Taker

Finn hides from him tbh

plz dont make him do paperwork he HATES IT

TT has scared tf out of him with the mirror nonsense

TT was the most against adding a new member but he cant say no to Jester so he treats Finn with respect but not warmly

Which is ok, Finn is very unnerved by him

They do though bond with apparently being the only mfs with an actual human disguise and just stares at Pierrot and Harlequins HORRIBLE attempt bc what do you mean youve been fucking around LOOKING LIKE THAT

BONUS! MC

Pierrot tells Finn about this cute human he met and Finn is instantly interested

He 100% has gone into his human disguise to talk to MC and learn some info on Pierrots behalf

Finn does get a little jealous bc Harleys trying to hit on mc, but mc is fully into Pierrot fuhsdif

But he dosent take that out on Mc

They bond over normal human shit and Finn is SO HAPPY to get to yap about random things he just cant with the circus members

Once Mc and Pierrot start dating, they both play wingmen for Finn with Harley and its so many sitcom like situations its funny i promise

Finn kept his phone, much to Jesters dismay, but he lets Pierrot use it to text Mc throughout the day and Finn sends Mc tiktoks

They have a snapchat streak

WAY down the line, as a way to create a tiktok account for the circus to show them being TOTALLY NORMAL GUYS AND NOT MONSTERS and tbh it works well and the circus genuinely gains fans who are simping for the guys and its FUNNY

Finn started out a little nervous around everyone bc well... hes never been around monsters and is so weirded out by it He grew as a human sooooo its a huge change And he gets a crush on Harlequin SOOOO he cant say no when mf wants to hang out, even if hanging out is mimicing voice to be like mcs and mess with Pierrot Finn likes to make Harley question himself mostly, like move things around when harleys not looking, gaslight the fuck outta him for shits and giggles

Finn MAY have a bad crush but has also teamed up with Pierrot to mess with Harley by spooking him with jesters voice and shit fjashgjnv

Finns not the BEST on his own but throw him with harley or Pierrot and he can be unstoppable

Once Finn and Harley are TOGETHER Finn likes teaseing more than pranks, I think bc Harley is so affection staved (Like genuine affection, not just fucking fools ajfnhj)

In their canon, Finns hands naturally rest on Harlyes neck, not in a sexual way but like, sitting besides im and his hand just resting on the back of his neck and it sends CHILLS down poor harleys spine every time and he does shit on purpose to mess with harley because that poor green man is so emotionally constipated he isnt used to someone giving him this attention when it isnt ONLY sexual

Finn is a VERY touchy person, its his main love language and he KNOWS harley isnt used to that and uses it against him O F T E N

But as they get closer, finn grows closer with everyone else as well and they all enjoy seeing Harley be reduced to mush bc this fish boy held his hand and kissed his palm all loveingly can you tell i think about them a lot

they ARE scales but in the same placement as freckles, when he does his human disguise they ARE freckles bc be hated how he looked without them

they are on his cheek bones, forhead, shoulders and most joint areas of his body including back of his hands and top of feet!!
