I like to think that a lot of the reason that Murdoc was so abusive to 2D sometimes was because he DESPISES feeling guilt, and sometimes when he looked at 2D, it would evoke said emotion. Especially after the whole PB incident. But, idk, I usually don't share headcanon's cause I get self conscious of people disagreeing with me...;; Or me sounding stupid.

Personally I think why Murdoc hurt 2D is because 2D made him feel things, and when you look at his childhood he probably thought that his feelings are punishable whether positive or negative, that mindset was what created the monster inside of Murdoc until this day. And 2D, he was one of the few that stuck aside Murdoc and even once considered him to be a best mate, so being with him for that long period of time, when the feelings Murdoc had for 2D is out of his control - he started to feel too happy being with him, too sad and jealous seeing him with anyone else, and too guilty knowing 2D’s suffering was because of him - he hurted him because he didn’t know what else to do, until a point that 2D snapped and left him, that was when Murdoc realized that he can’t live without him.Tbh Murdoc’s mental stage is complex and…rather dangerous yet sorrowful to me and is beyond his attempt to fix himself (if he even bothers), his fixation on 2D is a poorly-execute coping mechanism and it’s really painful to explore that dark side of their chemistry and relationship ;-;And don’t sweat it! All headcanons are welcome on this blog, I never disagree with anyone’s headcanon because I know sometimes it could be a very personal viewpoint on a certain character/relationship (and that’s definitely okay!) you don’t have to worry <3

What’s one of the strangest things to ever happen to you while on tour?

2D: One time after a show Murdoc got very drunk. He pointed at me then one of the security guards escorted me to his trailer. When I got inside, Murdoc gave me strawberries and told me about all the tragedies in his life, stopping only to cry or smoke a joint. Afterwards he said I was a good listener, and not like all the other girls. We hugged, exchanged numbers, and I left. He never called.

What’s your perfect Sunday?

Murdoc: Sunday being the day of rest, [Gorillaz member] 2D waits on me hand and foot. He does that every day, to be fair, but on Sunday he wears a little apron, which makes it extra special. So, 1 p.m., I’m probably still in a booze coma. By 3 p.m., if I’m still out, 2D fires up the defibrillator and gives me a few hundred volts. Just to blow off the cobwebs. I normally punch him in the face due to the pain of the electricity, then he goes off to make me a Full English, which is a cocktail of our greatest liquids: gin, brown ale, Earl Grey tea, and Ronseal. Then I skin up a brunch trumpet of high-grade hash mixed with Nescafé Gold Blend and take 2D out for a walk in one of London’s famous parks. I’ll throw a stick for him or let him chase the ducks for a bit. Once he’s tired out, I head back home for Midsomer Murders, work on my cross-stitch, and reply to my latest hate mail.

Should everyone be required to take a gap year before university?

I don’t think people should be forced to do anything. Murdoc used to force me to dress up as a fox and run around the woods while he hunted me with his crossbow, which was really scary. Then again, he only did it because he’s an animal lover and would never hurt a real fox. That’s one of the things I admire about Murdoc.
