Dead Men Tell No Tales trailer got me thinking. For multiple reasons when I compare back to this scene (the post-credit scene in At Worlds End)
Dead Men Tell No Tales is FILMED 10 years after At Worlds End came out. I was wondering because of some buzz going around about this, that in fact, the movie will be placed 10 years later.
Sorry to burst many of your bubbles, but if they were to do that, they would have to completely ignore this scene. At the beginning of the scene even says 10 years later, y’all can’t say anything indifferent about that.
If they were to NOT ignore that ending scene, it wouldn’t be placed 10 years later, I think it were to be at least 20 from just looking at Henry Turner.
BUT, having it placed 20 years later would be illogical. For starters, Elizabeth Swann doesn’t look like she’s aged at all. If it was 20 years later, Elizabeth and Will would be near about 50 years of age. Now look at me in the face and tell me that Elizabeth Swann and Will Turner look 50 in the second shots. Moving on.
Even if the movie was set shortly after this scene was filmed and Henry suddenly grew older by 10 years/we’re going to ignore the ages, there would still be major plot holes.
First of all, Will Turner’s face is completely normal in the post credit scene. In the trailers for the 5th movie, we can see his face is covered in barnacles.
Secondly, Elizabeth Swann. In the post credit scene, we see her wearing a more “pirate” looking outfit, where in the upcoming movie, we see her in a fancy dress. Ones that she used to wear back in Port Royal.
Finally, Herny’s look. In the first frame when he was a young boy, he is also wearing “pirate” attire. In multiple scenes in the trailers, mostly when he’s attempting to find Jack, we can see him wearing a ROYAL NAVY uniform.
???????
Also, it’s quite obvious that Henry was separated from both his parents somehow, so if it is 10 years later, we would have to get a quick, logical explanation for that.
The bottom line is: If Disney decides to do it 10 years later, they will have to either pretend this scene never happened (which I think would be a big mistake on their part, as fans would most defiantly not ignore), or face with the many, many plot holes some which I’m sure we’ll be able to find more of than my examples here.
