three facts about me ? ooh, this is actually a toughie —- um, let me think. i started my acting career on barney as a kid, prior to my disney channel days. i am obsessed with pickles, and yes – i’ll drink the juice out of a jar. as for the third, i run ridiculously high fevers to the point that i am the worst person on earth to have to tolerate when i’m sick. if it wasn’t for george michael ? that’s wild ! 

I think I do remember hearing about you being on Barney. You do that? I can’t say I would do that. Oh, I can imagine you wouldn’t feel too great if thats the case. Oh yes. She worked with him so they were very close.

god, i would love to imagine handing a note to a boss telling them i was gonna be a rock star, even better if someone else got to leave it for me. you’ve got a pretty interesting story there. three facts about myself, hmm. well, i would say the first is that i tap dance but i don’t think that’s much of a secret anymore. my very first acting role was in an educational video about wildlife conservation. the last one would probably be my mom taking me to take the role of captain america, i was really unsure about losing my anonymity but i’d say it was worth it in the long run.

Oh, there has been quite a few interesting stories in my life. I didn’t know that you could tap dance. So that is new to me. As for the anonymiity, I know what you mean. I am like that but it is worth it. Anyway....how are you?

Oh yeah, definitely. Big cities always come with that. I mean all places come with that whether you’re worrying about other humans or animals. It’s the experience. I get you.

I am sure it isn’t just cities but I know what you mean. It is the experience and the fact that there is more family around.

I am sure if I laughed in some creepy way in my sleep and someone happened to be in the same room and heard that, I would get some weird looks when I woke up.

I’m a very boring man and I just realized I don’t have 3 things even remotely interesting about myself. Well, I was born in Manila, Philippines and moved to Canada when I was 3 years old. I guess that could be interesting? But that’s about it. I’m more interested in the fact that George Michael is the reason you and your ex-wife got together, and you’ve got me wondering why he was on your first date as well?

I don’t think I am that interesting. It did take me a while to come ip with those three. I said. See...I didn’t know that. As for George, my exwife was one of the backing singers/dancers with Wham. One of the ones you would see in the music videos. I think she thought she would back out of the date because she was nervous. So he arrived with her and was sat nearby. Just not too near.

I would’ve never guessed you were 60 or in your 60s you look great by the way and I promise that is not me sucking up or anything. That is really cool to know about you, I don’t think I could work with either of my parents though, they would probably be too embarrassing to me. Also maybe not a pop star but a star all the same. Shoutout to your son for helping you out too. Hm, three facts about myself? Alright thank you for putting me on the spot there. I have a crippling fear of open doors, like it freaks me out because I don’t know what’s going to come out of it. I can actually play the piano, not many people know that about me. I took a ton of lessons when I was younger and sometimes if you hear a piano in one of my songs it’s most likely me playing it. And my favorite color is blue, despite all the black I wear and my style. I love the color blue, I don’t know why but the way it looks is just so elegant and gorgeous. Those are three random facts about myself, I don’t think I’m all that interesting but hey not everyone is.

Really? I can say it is more obvious now that I don’t dye my hair. That did make me look younger than I actually was. But I stopped that a few years back. Oh, I wasn’t thinking that you were sucking up to me. I am so grateful that my son helped me. I would have been pretty lost if he hadn’t. I never thought of that being a fear. You do? My brother plays the piano. I am more bass guitar. I agree with you about the colour blue. They are interest.

Yes, there was two backing singers/dancers. They were in most, if not all of the videos. They actually did have a singing career for a while after that.

It’s been something i’ve known for years! i really don’t expect many people to have the kind of thoughts i do – so i get it! it’s very nice to meet you as well, martin, and i didn’t think about there being a middle answer. but i’ll admit that i like your middle answer. It’s a little better than what i was thinking. because i was thinking that you’d not hit yourself as hard, because you knew you were hitting yourself, right? so of course you’re not going to put your full strength into it.

I mean, there probably could be a middle answer for a lot of things. I can’t say I have thought about it. I think that would be the answer I would come up with.  Exactly. Why would you do that so hard?

Oh that’s great that you grew up somewhere that you thought would be a safe place for you to raise your kids. Can’t say the same for where I grew up, unfortunately. New York is just most convenient for me.

It wasn’t so much about it being safer. I am sure there is places safer than London, but we just wanted them growing up where we did.

It’s amazing how a question can have the effect of making us go completely blank, like when you are asked about your favourite film and you have to think about each and every film you have seen in your life and which one, of all of them, best fits the definition of ‘favourite’. One would be that many people know that I worked with Meryl Streep where I was playing a young version of her character, but few know that we are actually distant relatives. Second, and the most known, James isn’t my actual last name but my father’s first name. I started using it as my stage name in his honour. Third and last, I’m also a sixth cousin of George Bush. I had to do a lot of thinking, literally had no idea what to say at first. 

It really does. You think you would know some straight away but you really have to think about. I did heard about you were related in some way, I didn’t realuze about the George Bush connection though. I also knew that James wasn’t your real last name but I had no idea about the reason for using James as your stage name.
