Walking and talking with colleague about work stuff while he was in a hurry to catch a train...it couldn’t wait and the subject was important. We concluded the whole thing riiiight before he entered the train. While we started talking at his desk in the office. The walk back was a great break. Reminded of exploring different things in order to discover my own voice in photography. Which (I think) is partly besides the subject you are approaching. The why of this photo: It’s Sunday and these two were working...on a quiet day after a national holiday (Kingsday) on a street that is usually filled with (very busy) people. It’s like they are deliberately sitting on a mountain (of work) in a flat country like ours. Such contrast, I wonder if I am able to notice the people being on their off days amidst a crowd during the ‘regular’ workweek again. The streets were so relatively quiet the past week due people taking days off between Easter and Kingsday. As if people stopped racing around being busy and decided to look around and breathe. :P At first I wasn’t sure either why this scene spoke to me when walking by. For these two I am not sure wether, knowing or not, they had a choice working today. At least they weren’t rushing around. http://bit.ly/2vtwdpq
This place contains magic. One of the very few places where you can find some peace and quiet for the mind. It’s a walled-in and only accessible with a special ticket. It’s protected and maintained while regulating the amount of visitors. Besides a lot of history, the national monument status and it’s beauty, this place provides comfort. It gives you space when there is none inside a densely populated area like our city region. Ironically it’s just a small space with the size of a small housing block yet nature almost runs free here. Centuries ago it used to be the size of small village. Every season gives new scenery and transformation to this place. It snowed today (finally some taste of winter!) and I had to go out and see. Besides the sea and it’s beaches, the dunes and what not that is around, this gem provides ample to enjoy. A place that awnsers back when looking, making visitors silent and grateful for what is given to them before returning to society again. http://bit.ly/2U8ORO0

Found on my phone, transfer from my XT-1. Shot it months back when (once again) I was challenging myself to shoot straight and symmetrical. Still need to figure out what I want when it comes down to this. It almost feels like I need to force myself to follow some made-up ‘rules’ which doesn’t sit quite well with me. Training zone, recently started with my first project....on baseball. Back in October I recieved a inventation to join a media team for a regional youth baseball organisation. Since then did a couple of shoots and grew A LOT each time. While still not fully knowing how my Fuji XT-1 works, lol. 😆 Also got my first house, renting from April, and started a new job. So I got my first camera: a Fuji XT-1 with the 35 mm 2.0 Fujion-lens. In short: so many buttons! so many options! SO much to learn!! Haha. Still shooting full-auto because I have no idea what I am doing besides some essentials. 😅😜 (bij Station Leuven)
