Vertebrae - Axis

Second animated film of Vertabrae series

This series was born from the need to communicate something intimate through my means alone.

Animation, writing, music, voiceover, all managed by me, with my limitations, trying to involve the viewer in a personal glimpse.

Vertebrae thus develops into individual short films, each representing a part of the spine, in an exploration of myself and my way of confronting myself.

Axis is the second vertebra from the top, representing the pivot upon which the Atlas rotates. For this reason, this short film represents an axis and therefore a direction, an intent, a posture, a possible will, a more personal impulse.

Dopo tre giorni di una Viterbo di pioggia, di aperitivi a orari improbabili, di così tante parole e racconti, cerco di capire da dove riprende la mia vita e, per farlo, riguardo le riprese che mi sono portato verso casa. “Lei era disordine, odore di velocità e foreste, era uno spiano ed era tutti i passaggi non completamente aperti, era il contrasto e la quiete” -ecco, non c'erano parole migliori per raccontarla. “Vertebrae” è cominciato nel modo più onesto ed ingenuo che ci sia, ovvero dall'incontro. Ora non resta che immaginare il possibile, e a tratti ciò che possibile non è, e scoprire la bellezza che ne emerge. Non sarà facile trasmettervi la bellezza più vera di questa ragazza, ma una sfida è fatta per rischiare e perdercisi dentro. Ne varrà sempre la pena, si va in cerca di tempeste perché è lì che la vita accade realmente. (presso Viterbo)
