The pun made him press his lips together, turning his head to shoot a glare towards the other, absolutely displeased with Tony’s behaviour. Causing him to then look away, roll onto his side and pull the sheets up and over him. “The Allfather should have left me dead if the only thing I would hear were terrible puns.” He said, and only then did his expression soften, a look of fear, remembering all too well what had happened and it terrified him to no end. That there was somebody that was capable of killing Gods.. Loki fell silent as he tried not to think too much about it. A hand subconsciously took place and rested upon his neck. Perhaps it was best to distract himself.
“You know? I dislike bed puns.. They’re kind of sheety.”
Tony’s throat felt as though it had closed at the mention of Loki’s death. He knew it was meant to be a joke, but the thought was one he attempted often not to think about. If he did, his anxiety would get the best of him, and nothing good ever came from his mind losing control of itself. If he allowed himself to think too much or too long on the subject of a war that had decimated half of Earth’s inhabitants, even if only temporarily. He couldn’t help but blame himself at least a little for the way things had turned out in those last moments before everything - and everyone - had turned to ash.
Breathing in deeply, he ran a hand over his face and forced himself to focus on something else. Instead of allowing his mind to wander onto any more unpleasant thoughts, he distracted himself by looking over at Loki, focusing on the long strands of black hair and the expanse of pale skin. Anything was better than thinking about war. At the joke that escaped Loki’s lips, Tony couldn’t help but to burst into laughter, covering his face with his hands as his laughter slowly died down into one long groan of feigned irritation. “You are the worst.”
“Yes thank you for reminding me. It isn’t as if I have heard that for the first time. Besides you are the one that started with these terrible word games” Loki pointed out, frowning at it, they were terrible indeed and now even he had participated in it. Oh why did he do that? It was a bad idea. A very bad idea to indulge into the foolishness of making puns.
“But... I do believe my pun was certainly the best” he couldn’t help but boast, he after all, made Tony Stark himself laugh. A guy that never was truly fond of him. Especially since he had sent the Chitauri to help make Loki conquer the world. It wasn’t that much of a surprise that they didn’t like each other but for once they weren’t at each other’s throats. There was no point to it anymore, not for Loki at least. He knew that if he tried the Avengers would find yet another perfect plan to capture him.
