This scene makes me so crazy. Pilate shouting at Jesus one minute and pleading with him the next. Holding Jesus so now he literally has "his life in his hands." The way Pilate only lets go once the mob starts singing in his ear. And even then he has to WRENCH himself away from Jesus. Good lord the eye contact and the way he drags his hand away. I would argue it's almost sensual and frankly I love when people portray Judas' betrayal of Jesus with love mixed in, so to see that approach paralleled here is very compelling to me

WHAT THE FUCK this instantly became one of my absolute favorite trial before pilate performances ever. raúl completely outdid himself in night 3. not only his vocals but, damn, how perfectly he captured pilate's reluctance and horror (the look on his eyes when he is holding jesus!!!!), his acting is SO good!!! cynthia is also SOOO incredibly majestic as jesus!!!! they couldn't have chosen a better person to lead this production <3 (i have said it a thousand times and i'll say it again, it's a shame it's not been professionally filmed). AND GODDD, THE CAMERA FOCUSING ON THEIR HANDS TOUCHING i'm going INSANE. if anyone finds the full thing pls post a link 🙏🏻🙏🏻
