After reading Project Hail Mary, I got the Brain Worms and I've just realized something:
We know that Grace is always going on about how talented and skilled Rocky is, but there's a line in the book I feel I should bring up.
"You have idea already. Not question. I know you. You have idea already. Tell idea."
-page 396
Rocky thinks exactly the same about Grace and his science skills. He has just as much unwavering trust in his capacity to think their way out of a problem as Grace has in Rocky's engineering skills.
I am unwell.
Hermes *literally two minutes into the play*: ok this is a tragedy, it's an old song and we're gonna sing it exactly like it's been sung before and it's tragic because that's how the song goes!
Me: ok, but like, not this time right??

Do you know how annoying it is that every time I see a criticism or the Christopher Nolan Odyssey movie, I have to check if it's a reasonable person or like, Nazitron1488ss or whatever. In a just world I should be a lazy, uncritical backseat hater, lying on my fat ass and scrolling thru Twitter, snickering and liking every negative review. But no: I can't do that. For the most part, the chud tweets are pretty obvious and easy to block, but other times it's tricky, it passes for run-of-the-mill haterism until you look at the comments and-- THERE!! He's responding to guys with PUNISHER ICONS. It's a close call sometimes!! You have to be careful!! You accidentally misclick a Like on a tweet that's like "More like Christopher No-LAME!!" and suddenly you're getting ads for cookware by some company called For The Replenishment of the White Race. IT'S NOT FAIR!! LET ME BE A HATER IN PEACE. I'M NOT AFFILIATED WITH YOU GHOULS.
There is something very sweet about Luffy wholeheartedly laughing whenever his crewmates pull their typical shenanigans which confuse or exasperate others;
Whether it be Zoro and Sanji starting a fight or Ussop going on a tirade of recounting his version of events that awe Chopper and irritate someone who was there for it or one of them getting scared by Robin's grim conclusions in every unknown situation or Nami knocking some sense into the boys when they get stupid or Franky getting pushed to annoyance by Brook's countless skull jokes or Jinbei gaining a look of baffled confusion at the crew's craziness or Sanji screeching at his captain to stay away from the crews' plates that he hasn't even prepared yet or Zoro napping through five consecutive weather crises or Ussop having an aneurysm at his crewmates focusing on something completely irrelevant instead of the problem at hand or the goading arguments rising from the unspoken competition of Who's bounty is higher or Nami threatening Zoro to raise his debt and the banter which ensues from it- All of that and more, all the routinely insanity and shenanigans that comes with being a Straw Hat- Luffy sees them doing this and laughs, wholehearted, loud guffaws filled to the brim with uncontained joy instead of his typical amused snickers.
It's just so heartwarming because it shows just how much he loves his crew, these people he chose and who chose him. Seeing them acting as themselves and free makes him so darn happy and it shows in his laughter. Throughout the series, amongst some of the happiest moments we see him being are these moments.
