thinking about the scene in 7x05 where jane says “i’m happy for the first time in you know how long” to lisbon and i think it’s supposed to be kind of a throwaway line but i genuinely cannot stop thinking about it?? because not only is lisbon the reason he feels happy and at peace, but she’s intimately acquainted with his grief. she knew him from when he was a shattered widow all the way to when he was finally able to open up to the risk of loving another person. it parallels the video he made in 3x19 where jane said he wants someone who knows the worst side of him and still loves him, and there’s no side of himself lisbon hasn’t seen. even when he returned to his con man brain bc of amnesia and everyone was saying how bad of a person he was, lisbon defended him because knew his true self was always there and trusted he would always be the person she loves and never lost faith in him. absolute insane power of love behavior
