Ode to the future president
I watch, as the mighty Eagle loses its wings.
I watch, as the old men fight for its rotting head.
I watch, as the blue man challenges the red man,
Hoping to kill the orange one.
I cry out to the bird:
“Isn’t there another one?
An intelligent man,
Who cares for the hurt?”
“Someone who will tell the truth,
Someone who can heal this fracture,
Someone who will help the youth,
Someone who can end this chapter
Of pain and inequality.”
“No” says the bird.
“Not since the second state,
Not since he dropped out,
The one who put Humanity First”
