My Cleric

(A short poem inspired by Byler)

I would travel 500 miles just to see you, my cleric

Just to see your green eyes, my love

Just to keep you alive, my lord.

Know that I will never break thy oath,

I will be by your side until the day that I die.

I never expected to live,

If you could call it that.

A life.

Some will understand,

I think.

I hope.

I remain,

Despite my own will.
