Many of us have encountered a person or persons that have difficulty understanding the comparisons of the harmful effects of cigarettes compared to vaping. It all comes down to the main component shared between the two, doesn’t it? Yes, that’s it folks, we’re going to talk about nicotine.
Nicotine, for those of you that don’t know, is a potent parasympathomimetic alkaloid found in the nightshade family of plants and is considered to be a stimulant drug. Nicotine can be extremely dangerous and potentially deadly in some cases. However, did you know that nicotine can be found in several very common vegetables, fruits, drinks, etc.? Some include tomatoes, potatoes, cauliflower, tea, eggplant, peppers and capsicums. Many people also do not realize that there is evidence suggesting and/or proving that nicotine offers benefits such as increased oxygen levels in the brain and increased rate of beta oxidation (makes you burn fat faster).
