Honestly im kinda indifferent about it i guess? Idk like I''ve always kinda imagined him having a single mom/ divorced parents and not rlly talking to his dad kinda thing but I don't ever really imagine him being like. lower than middle class ig. Like, I feel like his family would be comfortable, but not necessarily super super rich. He's just an Average Dude Guy to me. That being said I also think it'd be really fucking funny if he actually took out a bunch of student loans and then like, dropped out of college the way Tim said in that one panel.
