last week, maryandhercamera, murryclurr, and capturetheinstant, and I took a trip to the Olympic peninsula. Austin made this beautiful film from the forty or so hours we spent together: seeing, touching, tasting, smelling, hearing, experiencing the world and this life, living what it means to go and say yes - grace in hard laughter, wet and sandy feet, running in mountain light.

one of the top ten days of my life, and so touched with holiness it split the sky in two.

Today in the car I was reflecting on what womanliness is. And I felt compelled to photograph myself. I was going to write a snipet of what I was thinking but I’m too distracted by my friends and a dog to do that right now.

I've been listening to this a lot lately. Partially because my life is slowly becoming a glorious and exhausting sprawl of wedding photography and the crazy implications of marriage are thrown in my face every week or so, and partially because everyone has the right to marry now. And that it's really only in the context of marriage that you can look at someone and say "this body is yours and mine" and "this mess was yours, now your mess is mine." It's made me cry a couple times, and rightly so, I think. What a beautiful gift.
