Kageyama sat on the bed, looking over at the sleeping Hinata. His orange hair was spread across the pillow, drool dripping from his mouth. He had one arm wrapped around Kageyama's waist. He was safe, everything about Hinata was safe. Kageyama didn't fear sleeping next to him but he couldn't sleep. His head fell against the headboard behind him, closing his eyes. He could hear some shuffling outside their room. He could even hear music playing in the room next to theirs.
It was almost like he was back with Zankoku. The dark room with everyone alive outside. He reached out allowing his hands to wrap around Hinata's arm. He needed grounding right now. Kageyama felt like he was floating away from his body. His scars burned as if they were on fire. Slowly his chest tighten, and his mind was fogging. Yet his body was aching, it was roasting. His throat started to close up, he tried catching his breath. He wanted to scream out but he couldn't. His body was locking up on him.
"Tobio," A voice broke through his racing thoughts.
A small whimper struggled through his lips.
"Tobio," It said again. "Tobio, lighten up."
Kageyama gasped, praying that he was begging for help.
"Tobio. Tobio, it's me," It said. "You need to lighten up your grip. I'm not going anywhere."
"Make . . . ."
"Make what?"
"Too dark."
