Reblog if you don't use Generative AI to write fanfics/original fics or to create fanart/original art.
"Sewing is a gateway drug to thinking through complex problems. It seems really simple; culturally, we make it women's work. Let me tell you: real sewing at any kind of level of proficiency is a bloody magic trick. Sewing, like mold making, involves mental frames that require one to think inside out and backwards. It requires one to work on an order of operations that is often taking into account the reverse. It's a really, really important skill, and if you learn how to sew, you're mostly on your way to carpentry and welding and sheet metal work. I'm not kidding: these are planar forms meeting under rules and conditions. And if you can make a sleeve work, I swear to God, you could build a house."

one thing about americans is that they know how to make a fucking milkshake
i hate the stupid milk consistency shit you get here like if you give me a milkshake it better be rock fucking solid. i want that thang thick like concrete. it should piss me off trying to drink it through a straw. i should have to wait for it to thaw
Americans are so good at making Beverage. One of our Foundational Moments was actually a party involving Making Beverage. Google "Boston Tea Party" for more
if you work in a creative field...or if you do creative hobbies like writing or drawing...you need to make friends with people who don't do those things. you need to befriend normie Steve who has never written a story in his life. and this is because when you are in a creative job or hobby and spend all your time doing that thing, surrounded by very capable people, who you inevitably compare your own progress and skills to, you forget what the baseline human skill at that thing is. and it's usually zero. normie Steve has not written a story since the 3rd grade when his teacher made him do it. he's very good at other things that are not storytelling - but if you tell normie Steve that you wrote a full 300-page book from start to finish, he will think you're some kind of savant. he does not know ANYONE else who has done this. you need this perspective. because when you're constantly on Let's Write Stories dot Com then everyone on Let's Write Stories dot Com will inevitably be like "oh of course everyone on earth has written a book or several at this point!" and you canNOT let yourself think that. that is not even close to the average human experience. you are in a bubble. do not put yourself down. do not give up.
REAL AND TRUE. my newest normie steve does 40 mile bike rides on a whim and excels at outdoor rock climbing. i will always hype him up.

Explain yourself.
some people might not have seen all of them yet
i am SO glad people are explaining their choices because one of my favorite parts of whatâs going on here is the huge variety of reasons and lines of thinking people are using all to arrive at the exact same answer
at this point so many of you have independently described similar personality traits for all the tetriminos that i almost feel like i could draw them as people
they are reading the comments
some wild shit going on in the notes thatâs hard to pick up on if youâre not getting notifications every time someone says anything:
for some reason both people who prefer S AND people who prefer Z say they think Z would be kind of mean
people who Donât pick the T overwhelmingly assume people who do chose it because it looks like a dick, actual given reasons for picking T lean more toward gameplay versatility, sex toy safety (i.e. they ALL look like dicks but T has a flared base), and personality
thereâs a fairly even split on use of gendered pronouns for I, O, T, and Z, but people tend to use she/her for L, J, and especially S
there have been multiple unconnected instances of the phrase âtriple t spin in the pussyâ. this doesnât really matter it just feels worth mentioning
by and large S and Z fuckers are MUCH more passionate about their choices than L and J fuckers
thereâs been a tumblr-typical handful of âsubmissive and breedableâ comments, but as far as iâve seen only the T piece has people explicitly and directly saying they want to get it pregnant. no idea what caused this. the art seems to have made it worse
guys stop calling my tetris gijinkas tumblr sexymen. 3 of them are women
Going to arrange these posts next to each other for beautiful context
It's important to have one medium you are pretentious about and another medium that shows you also have dogshit taste
there are real benefits to complaining about a fandom in a private chat with your bestie
like, one time my bestie complained about a fic where our mutual OTP was getting frisky in a *very* confined space and she'd had to nope out because the logistics of it all were just so nonsensical. "they couldn't fuck in a space that small" kind of thing
I hadn't read the fic, but I did enjoy the premise so I took the same location and wrote a comedic take on the whole thing where said OTP just got annoyed at having to breathe each other's air etc
bestie got her annoyance off her chest. I got the fun of writing a crack fic. readers got to enjoy both stories (or one, or neither) without realizing they were even marginally connected. the other author never knew that they'd annoyed one reader in particular.
everyone wins and there's more fic than there was before. highly recommend complaining in a private chat with your bestie
Voting did matter. Even the worst democrat or in all honesty the next worst republican was not going to do all this exact same crazy shit. Voting cannot fix a broken system but if the system asks you to weigh in on how much more broken it wants to get, you can tell it "no, not that far please" instead of effectively "I don't care, go hog fucking wild"
So please vote in the midterms, for the least evil options on the ballots, instead of telling them you just don't mind who they put in charge of whatever the hell they want.
To back up OPâs post, democrats have won the majority of recent state elections (NPR link), and closed the gap on the few they didnât. Dems also are notorious for getting stuck having to fix shit and get locked in a constant uphill battle (why it feels like they donât get a lot done). As for the arguments of âlol we wonât have midtermsâ or âeven if we do win midterms it wonât work so whatâs the pointâ⊠thatâs a form of voter suppression and weak ass defeatism.
The federal government cannot interfere with stateâs voting and board of elections, it is unconstitutional and was defended as recently as a few days ago Jan 9 2026 (Politico link). The arguments that itâs not worth it or wonât happen will get louder and worse because the far right know that they are losing power.
Keep track of your local and state elections, check your voter registration status and make sure itâs active and correct, and make a plan to vote. That means all seats from federal down to city council. I get how tired yâall are bc Iâm right there with you, but I want to get out of this. If you do too, stop doomscrolling and start being strategic with your attention. Pay attention to your local election boards, start giving yourself grace to learn and grow, if you can get involved do, if you canât just make sure to get out and vote. Remember voting is not a magic button and itâs going to take decades to fix what has been undone, so pace yourself accordingly.
WHY YOU VOTE (read above). Because bad can get worse and bad can GET BETTER.
When a fic doesnât fit my head canons but itâs well-written
#he wouldn't fucking say that but i'm getting kind of attached to the guy you invented who did say that
i got these knockoff boots online and instead of the brand name on the tag they have the name of an apparently nonexistent martin scorsese movie??? what the fuck
THE ORIGINAL? ON MY DASH
this post led to a series of events that had martin scorsese himself reacting to his alleged movie goncharov and it has less than 400k notes almost 3 years later?
Non-steddies being like âoh oof. Wild how steddie is dead now. Rip steddie. Wow canât believe they just put steddie to rest. Not the death of steddie omfg.â
And steddies being like âYESSSSSSSSSS. WE WON. WE WONNNNNNNNNNNâ
you cannot kill us in a way that matters
Tumblr took down the original
So here
This hasnât shown up on my dash yet, so let me bring you some merr chrismas.
Lord knows that the United States has and continues to commit atrocities. I can't justify that. And the current political situation here is scary as hell. But I love this place. I love the Atlantic Ocean and New York City and the Pacific Northwest. I love my Blue Ridge Mountains with my whole entire heart. I love cardinals and mockingbirds and kudzu and possums and black rat snakes and the way the woods smell in the mornings.Â
I love that Americans are known for complimenting strangers. I love that we fry everything, and that we do it well. I love 12-foot-high plastic Halloween skeletons in peopleâs yards and tacky Christmas lights that stay up too long. I love that we are an unabashedly goofy people.
I love bluegrass music. I love stepping. I love that there are always folklorico dancers in my townâs Mardi Gras parade. I love that my town has a Mardi Gras parade, even though most people here arenât Catholic or French and didnât grow up with any kind of Carnivale tradition. I love that if "Livin On A Prayer" comes on a pizzeria, at least one person at each table won't be able to stop themselves from singing along. I love that the middle school gym shakes to the rafters when families cheer for THEIR baby finishing eighth grade and that they bring balloons and bouquets and flower garlands to celebrate.
I love the 80 year old couple at our local No Kings protest. I love all the little kids there with their families, too. I love the brass band that always shows up at protests here and plays old union songs and gospel music. I cry like a damn baby every time I hear âLift Evâry Voice and Sing.â
This country is horrible and selfish and destructive, but itâs also wonderful and kind and full of people loving and fighting and trying to make things better. And the people saying that thereâs only one kind of real American, and that if you donât look like they do or talk like they do or think like they do, then you donât count, those people can go pound sand. Iâm as real American as they come, and those people arenât the only ones who get to love our country.
